WASHINGTON ART ASSOCIATION PRESENTS "YOUNG TALENT"January 8 - January 29The Washington Art Association presents its first show of the New Year, "Young Talent." Ten artists, all under the age of 30, will exhibit their work, starting at an opening reception then throughout the month at the WAA. This event is a must for artists and collectors alike.

"ELIZABETH ENDERS: RECENT PAINTINGS AND WATERCOLORS" AT

January 8 - February 19Join the Diane Birdsall Gallery as it presents its newest exhibition and sale of recent work by New York artist and New London native Elizabeth Enders. The exhibition features recent oils and watercolors, most of which were completed in the last two years. An opening reception will be held to welcome the Elizabeth Enders: Recent Paintings and Watercolors exhibit to the gallery.

NEW CANAAN NATURE CENTER BOOK CLUBJanuary 11Join the New Canaan Nature Center for their next book club discussion of Honeybee: Lessons from an Accidental Beekeeper. The author, Marina Marchese, will be joining for a lively and informative discussion of her charming and personal account of abandoning the daily grind to live as a beekeeper and honey entrepreneur. The Nature Center Book Club meets in the Visitor's Center on the second Tuesday of each month.

SILVERMINE PRESENTS

"SOMEWHERE BETWEEN MAGIC & REALITY" 
January 13
Join the Silvermine Guild Arts Center and Karin Hilmer for a special evening. The event will present the "Infinity & Dreams" exhibition which features photographs by Karin Hillmer that were inspired by Jorge Luis Borges' short stories. During the event, the artist will discuss her work and answer questions. Patrick Horgan, celebrated actor and narrator, will read The Circular Ruins, one of the short stories by the Argentine writer. A
 reception will follow with traditional Argentine food, wines and Champagne.
