The ice is going in at the Harvest-Properties.com Whaler Hockey Fest 2011 rink at Rentschler Field, and Whalers Sports & Entertainment chairman and CEO Howard Baldwin, and president and COO Howard Baldwin, Jr., will be stepping out on the new ice for a ceremonial "first skate" this Thursday, February 10 at 3:00 PM... All interested media are invited to film and photograph this first foray on to outdoor rink at Rentschler and to interview the two driving forces behind its construction.
WHO/WHAT: Whalers Sports & Entertainment chairman/CEO Howard Baldwin, and president/COO Howard Baldwin, Jr., will be celebrating the completion of the Harvest-Properties.com Whalers Hockey Fest 2011 rink with a ceremonial "first skate" this Thursday, February 10 at 3:00 PM, in advance of the first Harvest-Properties.comWhalers Hockey Fest 2011 games later that evening. Baldwin and Baldwin, Jr. will also be available for interviews to discuss the rink and the opening of the event. The unveiling of the legacy jerseys to be worn by the players in the Feb. 19th Legends game will also take place.

DETAILS: The Outdoor Harvest-Properties.com Whalers Hockey Fest 2011 is scheduled to begin this Thursday, February 10 at 5:00 PM, with a Simsbury High School vs. West Hartford girls game. The featured event of the two-week outdoor hockey festival is the Harvest-Properties.com Whale Bowl February 19, which consists of the outdoor AHL game between the Connecticut Whale and the Providence Bruins at 7:00 PM, preceded by a Hartford Whalers legends vs. Boston Bruins legends classic at 4:00 PM. In addition to that, the historic outdoor event will feature: five premier college games, at least 15 elite high school, junior and prep school games and a "Whale Town", featuring exhibitors, games and the Whalers Mobile Hall of Fame.
