NIGHTLIGHT: Oliver Estreich, Founder of The Native Society, Leads The Winter Event-a Fete at The Rose Club at The Plaza! An Amazing Soiree Attended by The Most Happening Up & Comers of Manhattan Society. And We Told You His Mom, Gail Green, Is Fabulous!
Oliver Estreich, Manhattan Native and Founder of The Native Society
This is the first time we've attended a Native Society Event, and surely it will not be our last. Of course, any soiree at the Plaza is generally a fabulous one, but the crowd that gathered was clearly hand-picked and Oliver did a great job. The Native Society is the brainchild of Oliver Estreich. It originally was based on the concept of uniting those that grew up in Manhattan, and it has expanded to include girls that grew up in Farmington. And other really cool people as well.
There is no set criteria, but we must say every single person that we spoke to had it going on, and we have never seen that in this age group at a non-alumni or non-alumnae event before, so Oliver, your idea is working. And, we bet everyone there knew the difference between alumni and alumnae, and if you don't know the first is masculine and the second is feminine. This is a smart, well-dressed, well-read, well-spoken group that is ambitious, successful, and best of all excited to drink The Peachy Deegan at Swifty's! You know after anyone meets Peachy at a party after she tells them her name, she informs them that you can drink her at Swifty's.
If you are invited to their next event, you should consider yourself lucky, and GO!
You don't need a minimum SAT score or a degree from Harvard, but you do need a sweet outfit, a pleasant personality, great cocktail conversation (we suggest reading Mitzi Perdue's book: http://mitziperdue.com/) and an appetite for panache in Manhattan!
