Terrific Takeout: East Side Bagel

How can we talk about food in New York and not talk about bagels?

That was a very good question until today.

Bagels make Terrific Takeout too and they're not just for breakfast.

We began with East Side Bagel, located at 1496 First Avenue at 78th street-Haim Hassid was a delight to meet. The fresh fruit salad is simply outstanding: it is a medley of honeydew, muskmelon, orange, watermelon, pineapple -amazingly fresh!- and it is joined by a cinnamon raisin bagel that happily screams with strawberry cream cheese!

And East Side Bagel is not about just an ordinary bagel on cream cheese. It is also about extraordinary bagel sandwiches like this turkey one! Can you open your mouth this wide?

The Columbian coffee is good but our favorite thing at East Side Bagel is Scallion cream cheese on an onion bagel, shown above. So quintessential New York, there is no other city on earth where you can find such a treasure. Try East Side Bagel!
