Terrific Takeout: John's

You know at Whom You Know that Peachy thinks pizza is one of the four food groups!
Established in 1929, John's has four locations, three of which are in Manhattan, and of course Peachy Deegan flocked to the one on the Upper East side to check out what has been fabulous for over 80 years.
We have never been to John's before and we must say it is simply superior.
The ingredients were astoundingly fresh, the pizza was piping hot, and they put every ingredient we normally ask for on it: peppers, onions, pepperoni and mushrooms.  Better yet, they had real garlic to put on it and you know who loves that.  So much better than the common powdered kind which is so substandard according to our taste.  John's is a well-kept secret on 64th street between First and York.  Consider the cat out of the bag.
Linda graciously greeted us when we arrived, and owner Peter Castellotti was perfectly pleasant when we spoke with him on the phone.   The House salad was standout as well with fresh crisp romaine lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, red onions and dressing on the side, as asked for.
Again, everything was fresh as can be.
The applesauce carrot cake was moist and succulent with rich, creamy frosting but what really captured our heart was the Tiramisu.  This is the best Tiramisu Peachy's seen in the last week and if you read closely you'll see she has had it four or five times.  If you don't see all of those times in print, you know it's because some of them were not as good as the rest-so no need to tell you about it- but we do need to tell you this one was the best recent Tiramisu!  We are in love with pizza, but if you just went to John's for the Tiramisu you would be pretty smart.
John's is Terrific Takeout!
