An Update from Stand Up to Cancer

Did you know World Cancer Day is on February 4th, 2011? To support this awareness-raising initiative, SU2C invites you to spread the word and donate your Facebook Status. Cancer is personal - this horrible disease has touched each and every one of us. Tell the world who you stand for by sharing the powerful message to end cancer in our lifetimes.
This year's focus is on teaching children and teenagers to avoid UV exposure by being "sun smart." For more information on sun smarts or for more details on how you can make a difference on World Cancer Day go to http://WCD2011.su2c.org
SU2C - THANK YOU FOR HONORING THE STAR IN YOUR LIFE IN DECEMBER
Response to the Launch a Star Challenge in December was tremendous. Each and every tribute added to the SU2C constellation was truly moving and straight from the heart. Be sure to check out the video, featuring some of the most honored stars from this holiday season, and thank you to everyone who participated.
To launch a star or to leave a tribute, please visit the SU2C Constellation today.
SU2C - JIMMY SMITS TEAMS UP WITH SU2C AND GSK: WHEN WE ALL STAND UP, CANCER WILL STAND DOWN
With the generous support of GlaxoSmithKline, one of SU2C's first major donors, Jimmy Smits appears in a new PSA with the real doctors, nurses, survivors, caregivers and patient advocates who are on the front lines of the fight against this disease. Jimmy is standing up in honor of his cousin Carol, who lost her battle with cancer in 2008. For more information and to view the PSA, please visit www.weallstandup.com.
SU2C - GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR SU2C MEMBERSHIP IN 2011

As you set your goals for 2011, decide to Stand Up and make your voice heard: tell us your personal connection to cancer, launch a star for a survivor, or start a team in honor of someone in treatment. To find out more about what you can do to Get Involved or to get updates on the Dream Teams' progress that your dollars are funding, visit su2c.org.
Thank you again for all your generous support in 2010. We begin 2011 optimistic and hopeful that there will be other important research developments on the horizon in the months and years ahead. This is where the end of cancer begins.
