WEEK IN REVIEW - February 12 Muscle Milk Aston Martin and Corvette Racing Lead the Way at Winter Test

Among the largest entry to-date for the annual American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón Winter Test, Muscle Milk Aston Martin Racing had the fastest time of the week during Thursday's final session.  Lucas Luhr posted a 1:49.997 (121.094 mph) around Sebring International Raceway. The two-day session served as a preview for the 59th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida and the opening round of the 2011 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.

In GT, Corvette Racing set the pace with a 2:02.186 (109.014 mph) clocked by the team's No. 3 Corvette C6.R of Olivier Beretta, Tommy Milner and Antonio Garcia. Core autosport led the LMPC field. Its ORECA FLM09 driven Jon Bennett, Frankie Montecalvo and Ryan Dalziel entered a 1:54.370 (116.464 mph). In GTC, the fastest lap came from TRG's Porsche 911 GT3 Cup entry of Spencer Pumpelly, Duncan Ende and Dion von Moltke, who turned a 2:06.405 (105.376 mph). Full story.

Sebring Entry List Announced

On Wednesday, an impressive 59-car grid was released for the 49th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh From Florida, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated editions of America's greatest sports car race. The Automobile Club de l'Ouest - sanctioning body for the Le Mans 24 Hours - announced the teams that will participate in the seven-round ILMC. Concurrently, ALMS sanctioning body IMSA released its list of full-season entrants for 2011. Together, it gives Sebring one of the largest and most diverse gatherings of sports cars. It ties the largest Sebring field in the ALMS era, matching the 2002 grid. Full story.

ALMS Well Represented at Le Mans

Entries for the 79th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans were announced on Wednesday with healthy representation from ALMS. Flying Lizard Motorsports and Corvette Racing each have two entries, plus one from Krohn Racing. Highcroft Racing moves up to LMP1, while Robertson Racing and Level 5 Motorsports will make their debut in the world's most famous auto race. Full story.

Highcroft Ready for LMP1

Two-time ALMS champion Highcroft Racing has received an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans to compete in the LMP1 class. Highcroft Racing will take the new Honda Performance Development ARX-01e LMP1 machine- an updated and enhanced version of last year's ALMS title-winning chassis-to Le Mans to do battle against factory outfits including Audi, Peugeot and Aston Martin.
 In addition to the Le Mans assault, the team confirmed its American Le Mans Series return for this year's Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring - doing battle with one of the largest Sebring fields in history.

Team principal Duncan Dayton and his Danbury, CT-based team will soon confirm its complete 2011 race program - targeting its third consecutive ALMS championship. Full story.

Corvette and Road America Form Partnership

Chevrolet and Road America announced a multifaceted marketing partnership at the ALMS Winter Test that will put Chevrolet in the spotlight at one of America's premier racing venues. Chevrolet is now the Official Vehicle of Road America. In addition, the renowned Corvette Bridge will return to the historic track, and the Corvette World Tribute will celebrate Corvette's rich racing heritage the day following the August 20 ALMS race. Full story.
