Whom You Know Continues To See Manhattan On Our Feet in Oliver Sweeney! We Highly Recommend the Remington Grey Tamponato Which We Brought Out For Fashion Week In New York!
We told you last week how excited we are about Oliver Sweeney making its American Debut:
& the men of Whom You Know continue to be impressed with the high quality and smart design of their shoes. It is not just Peachy who is exclaiming "Amo Le Scarpe Italiane!" now- it is the men wearing Oliver Sweeney because this intelligent English designer has the shoes made in Italy.
We next evaluated the Remington Grey Tamponato and our panelist, Charles Ferri, wore them to the Buckler event in Soho, where everyone enthusiastically drank Star Vodka and The Andrew Buckler. We know they are alive on the red carpet at the BAFTA's and the BRIT's but we kind of like the red carpet in New York ourselves...Our friend Andrew Buckler is also English and knows of Oliver Sweeney. We love working with English designers because they totally understand how Peachy Deegan feels about who and whom. She really needs people to be in tune with the English language!
See how great they look on Charles:
They make you important even if you are important!
The overall quality of the Remington Grey Tamponato is outstanding. The leather is beyond soft, so when you wear them there is no breaking in period. I had no blisters from wearing them, and I walked in them for hours. The heel has a really amazing cushion as you can see from the above photos. These are really hot and exude a style that is both unique and a classy take on trendy. I've tested over 15 pairs of shoes and these are the best thus far in terms of workmanship and style. I love how they are made in Italy, not only since I am part Italian, but also because some shoes I've tested made in China are already falling apart! We are into total quality at Whom You Know and that includes staying power. I own Gucci and Valentino dress shoes and they don't have the level of comfort these have and they are all on par in terms of looks and style though those models I have by the other brands are more classic and these are trendier. But I like that better! This new trendy look exudes youth and European culture - and they are way hip. The pointed tip in the front comes down into a noticeable cut-not rounded-on the contrary it has a nice edge to it! It makes you stand out. Also, you can dress these up or down-they have excellent versatility. In the back I love the classy understated stitching of the "O" on the left shoe and the "S" on the right shoe. The mended wood with the rubber on the back of the heel is smart and it gives you the ability to grip; I haven't seen this hybrid before done as well as Oliver Sweeney has done it. Lastly the color is just outstanding. Totally in a class by itself, the shades of gray blended in give this a look that makes you important even if you are important!
Whom You Know Highly Recommends the Remington Grey Tamponato by Oliver Sweeney!

Oliver Sweeney came from uncompromising beginnings and from a young age yearned for something great. He ran away to London at the age of 15 where he stumbled across a bespoke shoe makers, introducing himself to the managing director who gave him a job on the spot.
In 1989 Oliver launched his own business based on the ‘Anatomical Last™’. A unique design, created after years of intensive research. It is sculpted to give support to the arch, the instep points to the big toe, like the real foot. A gentle twist through its length simulates the natural shape of the foot, and helps reduce rolling to the outside of the foot. Shortly afterwards in 1990 Harrods offered him a concession; Oliver worked on the shop floor. Three years later Oliver left Harrods to open a concession within Harvey Nichols. In 2000 Oliver opened his first standalone store and his retail portfolio grew from there.
In 2003 Oliver launched the iconic and radical Chelsea shoe that really established his position in the footwear market. At this time Oliver caught the eye of Dylan Jones and the two created ground breaking stingray shoe named ‘The GQ Shoe’ and sold a limited range of 100 pairs. 2005 saw many popular shoes like Venice and Ravioli which are still available today. Over the years Oliver has used a range of interesting skins and colours to establish a quirky take on formal shoes. Limited edition products have also been a popular feature, more information on these are below in the specials section.
