One of the largest appellations in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, Corbieres is known for their red wines. However, it's only within the past 20 years or so that they've really come into their own and been able to compete with wines from Burgundy and Bordeaux. After tasting the Les Deux Rives Corbieres Rouge 2009, it's easy to see why! This easy-drinking blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Carignan makes a compelling case for the Corbieres reds! It is zippy and fruity, but not too heavy or overpowering. It's medium-bodied, with a nice, round mouthfeel. Red berries are at the front, but this well-structured wine also has hints of licorice, cocoa, and spice layered within it. The texture is incredibly smooth, which makes it very easy to sip! I tried it solo and thoroughly enjoyed it, then paired it with a mild cheddar cheese, and enjoyed it even more! Because it's not too full-bodied, it's an excellent wine to keep on hand year-round. The flavor is complex, but mild enough to be paired with many foods, and it's equally enjoyable on its own. It's perfect for a dinner party, but could also fit the bill for a relaxing drink after a long, hard day. In fact, I'm very much looking forward to having a glass of it later this evening! I'll definitely be adding this delightful red to my list of go-to wines, and would highly encourage others to do the same! Tres bien!
I love wine. I especially love red wine. Now, I have another red wine that I can add to the list of my favorites! Les Deux Rives Corbieres Rouge is an excellent red wine from the south of France. The wine blends together Grenache, Syrah, Mourverdre, and Carignan. At first I noticed the pleasant fruity aroma when I poured it into my glass. After my first sip, I was surprised by how soft and smooth this wine is. This is the type of red wine that even someone who normally doesn't like red wine would enjoy. This makes it very easy to enjoy a few glasses! The flavor contained notes of both black cherry and raspberry. Additionally, the wine has an almost earthy and smokey quality to it. This combination of soft, fruity, and earthy was very pleasing to the palette. And, since this wine is so soft and smooth, it would go with almost any meal. I had mine with some quality New York brick oven pizza, and it tasted great! Les Deux Rives Corbieres Rouge is an excellent choice, so go out and try it!

Les Deux Rives Corbieres Rogue 2009 is to die for. It's a nice medium/light wine. I can taste the amazing fruity flavors. It really is perfect to drink with anything. It is so grand that it can be on its own. I love the zippy feeling it gives my mouth. It has a great aftertaste of berries that you can't get enough of. If you're not into strong reds this one isn't, it's mild and not overpowering. I like my reds a bit chilled. I went and chilled this one and to my expectation it was spectacular. I had this wine with a nice fine steak. The paring was perfect! The meat brought out the flavor of the wine. I couldn't have asked for a better match. I strongly suggest everyone get a bottle of this wine.
