Consolo, Aquino and Maglio Bring Sunny Days to East Harlem
The leasing team of Faith Hope Consolo, Chairman and Joseph Aquino, Executive Vice President, along with Arthur Maglio, of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group, has arranged the first Manhattan location for prominent child care services group Sunshine Day Care at 1330 Fifth Avenue, between 111th and 112th Streets, just north of Central Park. The daycare facility, which has two other units in Brooklyn and the Bronx, provides full- and part-time services for children, ages three months to twelve years.
The new site is situated in a block-front that is part of a Manhattan retail portfolio held by the team exclusively. Also included in the exclusive agency are several retail spaces directly across the street at 1325 Fifth Avenue, which has availabilities ranging from 1,000- to 9,000 square feet. Other retail in the immediate area includes such national and retail brands as Ottomanelli Brothers, Carver Bank, New York Sports Club and H&R Block. Moreover, on the ground level of 1280 Fifth Avenue, the Robert A.M. Stern-designed luxury condominium on 110th Street and Fifth Avenue, the Museum for African Art is nearing completion. The much-anticipated center represents the first new addition to Manhattan's legendary Museum Mile since the Guggenheim was built in 1959.
"Fifth Avenue, starting from Central Park North, is one of the most significant thoroughfares in Harlem today," said Ms. Consolo. "With a baby boom supported by family-sized apartments in the neighborhood and construction going on all along the avenue, this was the perfect time to bring in a well-known daycare center."
Added Mr. Maglio, "There is so much new retail and residential activity in the area, that we are literally offering 'ground floor' opportunities. By arranging leases for the right services and businesses here, our team has become an integral part of an important revitalization."
The long-term lease is for 5,000 square feet. Ms. Consolo, Mr. Aquino and Mr. Maglio represented the landlord in the transaction.
