Redken's Weekend Runway Report from Paris: JPG, Akris, Loewe, Rykiel & Celine with hair by Guido

This weekend, Guido, Redken Creative Consultant, was busy creating perfect runway hair to complement the looks atJean Paul Gaultier, Akris, Loewe, Sonia Rykiel and Celine shows in Paris for Fall/Winter 2011 Fashion Week
---

At Jean Paul Gaultier, hair was shaped into an airy twist with height at the crown and was “inspired by Alred Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’ and we used wigs to portray a very done bourgeois woman.” –Guido, Redken Creative Consultant.

Redken product:
forceful 23 super strength finishing spray

Create the look:
Even though wigs were used for the show purpose, this style can be recreated:
- Rough dry hair
- Create a 2-inch center part
- Backcomb hair to create an airy texture
- Twist hair into a French Twist leaving volume at the crown
- Finish with forceful 23 super strength finishing spray all over hair to secure in place

---

The look at Akris was  a shiny low ponytail with a left side part. “We wanted to keep the hair simple with a youthful, low ponytail.” –Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

Redken products:
- wax blast 10 high impact finishing spray-wax
- shine flash 02 glistening mist (available April 2011)

Create the look:
- Spray wax blast 10 onto damp hair and rough dry to create texture
- Create a deep, left side part
- Pull hair into a low ponytail beginning at the nape of the neck
- Spray wax blast 10 high impact finishing spray-wax onto ponytail to create added texture
- Finish entire look with shine flash 02 for lightweight shine.

At Sonia Rykiel, the hairstyle was a two-textured style with a soft, asymmetrical roll in the back and a tougher sprayed down front portion. The Sonia Rykiel woman is a very Parisian, left bank woman.  This style was inspired by the 40s, and embodies both masculinity and femininity at the same time with the two different textures - matte in the back and shine in front.  This is a very wearable look for women today.” –Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

Redken Products:
- Nature's Rescue Radiant Sea Spray
- forceful 23 super strength finishing spray

Create the look:
- Apply Nature’s Rescue Radiant Sea Spray and rough dry into hair
- Create a deep left side part
- On both sides of the head, loosely twist a section above the ear and secure both sections with pins in the back
- Pull hair into a low ponytail and backcomb adding thickness and texture
- Roll hair up toward the nape, turning slight to the right, creating an asymmetrical roll- secure with pins
- Pull a few pieces out to make it very soft, feminine
- Apply 2 jeweled hair pins on either side of the roll
- Spray forceful 23 super strength finishing spray onto the front portion, making this portion very hard.

Wanting to create a look that was “very simple but with high impact and slightly dominatrix and tough,” Guido, Redken Creative Consultant fashioned a strict, tight, lacquered knot at the crown of the head with a ponytail holder covering the knot at the Loewe show.

- hardwear 16 super strong sculpting gel
- shine flash 02 glistening mist (available April 2011)

- Twist ponytail and wrap into a knot, secure with pins.
- Spray shine flash 02 glistening mist all over head for added shine.
- Finish by placing a ponytail holder on top of the knot
