Run your own Irish pub, take part in the St. Patrick's Day Parade, cycle around the Aran Islands and win a trip to Ireland for real! Tourism Ireland launches 'Ireland Town' Game

Tourism Ireland has today launched 'Ireland Town'; a facebook game developed to give players a taste of Ireland in a new, innovative and fun way! Tourism Ireland is the first national tourism board in the world to launch a social game.

Ireland Town players can earn points by completing a range of virtual tasks and challenges based on all the wonderful sights and activities the island of Ireland has to offer. Points also mean prizes... with a grand prize of a real trip to Ireland!

By taking part in Ireland Town, players can build their own town and visit tourist attractions; they can even send postcards to their facebook friends while taking in all the island has to offer in a fun and interactive way.

Alison Metcalfe, Vice President Marketing, Tourism Ireland "This is a fantastic new way to showcase all destination Ireland has to offer. From painting your face green for St. Patrick's Day, to releasing your inner Cliffs of Moher roar, crowning King Puck at Ireland's oldest fair, to puffin spotting on Rathlin Island, Ireland Town has a new experience for everyone."

Playing the Ireland Town game gives players the whole Ireland experience; from standing on the boulders of giants at the Giant's Causeway to standing on the quay of Cobh and imagining Titanic making its last port before taking to the Atlantic. But don't forget everything in between; visit the walled city of Londonderry, catch the surf at Stand Hill in Sligo, have a laugh at Kilkenny's Cat Laughs Comedy Festival or visit Newgrange and the Hill of Tara.

To play Ireland Town, and be in with a chance of winning a trip to Ireland, simply log on to our facebook page www.facebook.com/DiscoverIreland
