Fever-Tree Ginger Beer wins 2010 sofi™ Gold Award for Outstanding Cold Beverage from the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade
Fever-Tree Ginger Beer was named Outstanding Cold Beverage of 2010 in the 38th annual sofi™ Awards from the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, Inc. The sofi™ Awards recognize the best in specialty food and beverages and are a coveted industry honor. “sofi” stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation.
Fever-Tree Ginger Beer received a sofi Gold Award from a record 2,257 contenders in 33 categories this year. The winners were announced at a red-carpet ceremony June 28 at the 56th Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.
The award is further proof of the growing trend towards premium mixers, a new drinks category that Fever-Tree has pioneered.
“Just think of the fabulous premium spirits on the market today – gins, vodkas, whiskies and rums, all subtly crafted to create the perfect balance of flavor and aroma. Yet, until now, the only option has been to drown these fine spirits with mass-produced, artificially sweetened mixers. We launched Fever-Tree to change this status quo,” said Tim Warrillow, co-founder of Fever-Tree.
Fever-Tree Ginger Beer is a brewed (though non-alcoholic) product developed to mix perfectly with dark spirits and vodkas and is also becoming very popular as a standalone drink. Fever-Tree Ginger Beer is packed full of unique gingers to give an incomparable long ginger length.
Using only fresh, high quality ingredients, Fever-Tree mixers allow the flavors of top shelf spirits to shine through. As a result, the brand has gained rapid international distribution and acclaim. Fever-Tree mixers are currently served in seven of the Top Ten restaurants in the world. [Restaurant Magazine].
