PRODUCT ALERT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH CATHY GOFF OF DIVA DEVA

Cathy Goff, a native New Yorker knew at an early age that she loved all things beautiful.

Beginning with a passion for Art and Travel developed from family roots in Italy and France that later developed to an ever evolving life long journey in the Beauty Industry.

Cathy pioneered the concept of Nail Spas in 1982, later bringing that business model to Paris, France where she opened a Nail School and Spa.

Cathy created training protocols for some of the finest nail and skin care manufactures and has been published over the years in many Beauty journals including a Beauty Column in West Palm Beach, FL.

Over the next several years she continued to create and bring innovations to market, whilst making a parallel move into consumer goods by creating DIVADEVA Anti-Aging Skin Care, a safe and effective alternative to Cosmetic Surgery.

Residing in Florida as president of Diva Deva this creative entrepreneur continues to grow and develop an International Company, travelling and working very hard to keep everyone beautiful.

We are so pleased to present a rare interview in the Product Alert column!  Peachy Deegan interviewed Cathy Goff for Whom You Know.

Peachy Deegan: What part of New York are you from and how did growing up in New York influence your philosophies and attitudes towards beauty?
Cathy Goff: I grew up on Long Island I remember at a very young age dressing up and going into Manhattan with my Mom; it was always a special occasion and it influenced me as a young girl because I wanted to look Fab like all the woman in Manhattan.

How do you define beauty?
Beauty comes from within we all are beautiful naturally cosmetics and skincare can make a difference but you have to have it inside first.

If you were stranded on a desert island with only ten beauty products, what would they be and why?
1. Water it is the most important beauty ingredient the more hydrated the skin the more it will glow.

How would you compare and contrast New York and Florida?
They are vastly different Florida is a tropical paradise with a different feel while Manhattan is alive has its own personality there is always something to do socially Manhattan is preferable to me very much like Paris - they are my two Favorite Cities.

What should the world know about Diva Deva that most people probably don't know?
We started out as a very small company I was working from home and to the outside world we appeared to be a large company meanwhile it was just me.

What or who has had the most influence on your pursuit of excellence?
A burning desire to make a difference- My Grandmother as a young business woman never gave up she inspired me and believed in me helped me open my first Salon..

What are you proudest of and why?
Creating DIVADEVA I followed a dream and it came true.

What would you like to do professionally that you have not yet had the opportunity to do?
Write a Book.

What is your favorite shop in Manhattan?
Fresh veggie market!

What is your favorite drink?
Champagne…But I have yet to try a Peachy Deegan!!

What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you at a cocktail party?
Too embarrassing to mention….

What is your favorite thing to do in Manhattan that you can do nowhere else?
Walk and look at Manhattan feel the heartbeat of the City.

What do you personally do or what have you done to give back to the world?
Children’s Charity’s.

What do you think is most underrated and overrated here? 
Underrated or overlooked, old buildings like Waldorf Astoria or St Regis Hotel so classic. Overrated some of the new to be seen in scenes they’re not always what they seem too superficial.
