About Alexandra Koumba
Eye for Design, or i4D, was founded in 2003 by Alexandra Koumba as a boutique interior design office and the premiere Decorative Arts gallery in Athens, Greece. An avid collector of 20thcentury decorative arts, Koumba scours auction houses and galleries during her global travels, looking for rare and original furniture pieces from the 1930s to 1970s to create a platform for distinguished antiques that are presented for the first time in Greece. Known for her exceptional taste and insightful perspective on modern art and design, Koumba and her pioneer gallery have been featured in numerous Greek publications such as InStyle, House & Garden, Casa Vogue, and Vogue. Although i4D is now the largest 20thcentury design gallery in Athens, Koumba did not stop at that. To complement her eclectic antiques, the Greek designer launched a modern jewelry and home décor line under the i4D name, infusing her unique taste into wearable and moveable works of art, adding the title of designer to her existing resume including entrepreneur, interior designer, trendsetter, and art consultant. Koumba this year is the designer of the Jewellery & accessories for the Special Olympics that will be held in Athens next summer 2011, adding the title of object designer to her existing resume including entrepreneur, interior designer, trendsetter, and art consultant.
