The September Concert Spring Event May 5th

The September Concert Foundation Hosts Fundraiser at
Rauschenberg Studios, 381 Lafayette St., Thurs., May 5th, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 
International Organization Supporting Free Concert Series Holds
First Fundraiser of 2011 at Studios of World Renowned Artist


The September Concert Foundation will hold its first fundraiser of the year on Thursday, May 5th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the exclusive Rauschenberg Studios, 381 Lafayette Street (at Great Jones). The benefit will help raise money to support the group's Tenth Annual September Concert, a four-day Celebration of Peace Through Music in venues throughout the world, which this year will be held from Friday, September 9th to Monday, September 12th. To organize the event, Founder and Director Haruko Smith has assembled an all-star cast of boldface names from the arts, music, fashion and business, including Faith Hope ConsoloAgnes Gund,Lauren HuttonDorothy LichtensteinDarryl PottorfSundram Tagore and Randy Wayne White.
     "It's truly an amazing opportunity to be able to hold this event in the original studio of the late artist Robert Rauschenberg, who believed in the power of the arts to change the world," said Ms. Smith. "When the idea of The September Concert existed only on a piece of paper nine years ago, his reaction was 'Oh that's beautiful!'  His support continues three years after his death, bringing people together in this magnificent space who believe likewise in filling the skies with music and hope for peace."
     During the spring fundraiser there will be live music, entertainment, auction, hors d'oeuvres, spirits and more. Among the many auction gifts will be:
 
     • First tier box seats for eight from Jack Goodwin, Music Director of NY Choral Society for their Christmas Concert at Carnegie Hall, Wednesday, December 14, 2011, valued at $640.
 
     • Written into fame…as a character in the next mystery novel by best-selling author Randy Wayne White;
 
     • A spot on international yoga leader Amy Ippoliti’s weeklong October 2011 retreat in Umbria, Italy Amy Ippoliti's weeklong October retreat with world-renowned Eastern philosophy scholar Douglas Brooks, Ph.D. Valued at $3,500.
 
     Auctioneer is Cate Smit is a native New Yorker with a passion for fundraising! She has hosted auctions, roasts and industrial meetings and broadcasts around the country. She is also an actress, writer, director, and producer who can be seen regularly on TV, and in the occasional feature film. Cate appears regularly in national commercials and can be heard on the radio. In her spare time, she performs original material in NYC and Los Angeles. Paddles up!
     Tickets for the May event are $150 each through April 20th and thereafter, $200 apiece. Each ticket contributor will also be provided with 10 raffle tickets.
