At Home Welcomes New Participants & Expanding Resources

An influx of new exhibitors, the return of key resources to the New York market and expansion of leading suppliers will be among highlights of At Home during the summer 2011 New York International Gift Fair®(NYIGF®).  At Home presents one of the largest and diverse selections of trend-focused home resources in the country, with some 500 hard lines and soft goods suppliers offering a complete range of home goods – from indoor to outdoor and traditional to contemporary – at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94. 
At Home’s hard lines are consolidated at Pier 94, with a concentration of 300 companies representing the full spectrum of furniture, floor coverings, wall art, lighting and decorative accessories. At the Javits Center, At Home featuring Home Textiles showcases some 200 mid- to high-end home textiles resources including bed and bath fashions, table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics.  NYIGF is one of three locations which comprise Home Textiles Market Week® in New York – the nation’s largest collection of mid- to high-end home textiles.
“Home offerings continue to grow at NYIGF, whether through addition of new resources or expansion of existing resources,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “NYIGF provides a unique opportunity for home retailers to shop their core categories, and to find thousands of complementary product lines.”
Newcomers to At Home at Pier 94 include: Adri Collection (luxury cushions and throws), Amedeo Design (fiberglass statuary and garden accents), Aromatique (candles and home fragrance), Asian Art Imports (sustainable home accessories), b+g design inc. (lighting), Blossom Planting Supplies (planters, pots, and baskets), Evandro Jr. (three dimensional wall art), Flextable (adjustable desks and tables), Dean Rhys Morgan (illustrated wall art), Gabby (furnishings and accessories), Interdecorations (Dutch art and accessories), Lacefield Designs (lighting, art and accessories), Two World Arts (seating, tables and casegoods), wolfum (tabletop and pillows) and Zoe Bios (wall décor and lifestyle accessories).  Key furnishings suppliers returning to NYIGF after a hiatus include Artifacts Trading (baskets), Bramble (home furnishings), Katherine Klyce (pillows and throws), Michaelian & Kohlberg (pillows), Red Egg (home furnishings), Shiner (lighting and home furnishings) and Zeugma (lighting and decorative accessories).
In addition, several leading At Home exhibitors are expanding their presence, or moving into new locations, at Pier 94 for the summer 2011 market. Julian Chichester (furniture and decorative accessories) is moving to a central location near the entrance of Pier 94, and three companies will relocate into At Home from other NYIGF divisions: Comptoir de Famille (tabletop), Dique Stone (lighting), and Wayland Gregory Studios (decorative accesories).  Exhibitors increasing their presence with larger booth space for summer 2011 include: Abigails, Airedelsur, Badia Design, Barreveld International, Design Legacy, DK Living, Gold Leaf Design, Grace & Blake, Halo Styles, Kinzig Design Home, Lamp Works, Mr. Brown, Oomph, Roost, Saddleman’s of Santa Fe, Three Habitats, Tritter Feefer, Vintage Studios and Viz Glass Art.
Newcomers to At Home featuring Home Textiles include Chortex USA (towels), Daisy House (Turkish towels and robes), Marigot (cashmere), Pure Fiber (eco-friendly bed and bath textiles), Rough Linen (bedding and curtains) and Secrets de Provence (tablecloths).  The division also welcomes Callisto Home (pillows) and Cloud 9 (pillows), both of which are relocating from Pier 94 into At Home featuring Home Textiles.
Key home fashions suppliers returning to NYIGF after an absence include Good Home Company (natural home fragrance and cleaning), Hamburg House (bed, bath and table linens), Karen Luu - Home Couture (loungewear and pillows), Matteo (bed linens, tabletop and window coverings) and The Sandor Collection (Hungarian felt appliqué products).
In addition, several leading At Home featuring Home Texitiles exhibitors are expanding their presence for the summer 2011 market.  This includes Alicia Adams Alpaca, CGG Home Fashions, Coyuchi, Cuddledown, Dwellstudio, Florabella, Happy Blanket, Matouk, Pehuen – Patagonia Designs, Pine Cone Hill / Dash & Albert Rug Company, Scintilla, Sefte, Sferra, Sivaana and Woven Workz.
Beyond exhibits, NYIGF offers several events and seminars relevant to home buyers and suppliers.  These home-focused activities complement a full slate of educational programming and after-hours events offered to New York Market participants. 
On Saturday, August 13, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, retailers are invited to attend the At Home welcome reception on Pier 94, hosted by Home Accents Today, to celebrate the market's opening day.  On Sunday, August 14, “25 Retail Ideas That Work” will be presented by Home Accents Today from 12:00-1:00pm. This program will address marketing tips, special events, creating partnerships and other ways to make a store stand out from the competition.  On Monday, August 15, the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) will sponsor “Color: From Theory to Selection,” from 9:00 to 10: 30 am; and from10:00 to 11:30 am, RetailerForum.biz and ART (Accessories Resource Team) will facilitate “Retailer Roundtable” discussions about social media, in-store events, store operations, retail competition, open to buy budgeting, credit card policies and more. Seminar information and registration is available online at: www.nyigf.com/programs. 
The Home Textiles Market Week Best New Product Awards will return this summer to spotlight design innovation in Bed, Bath, Dining and Home Accessories, as selected by a panel of trade and consumer editors.  The New York Metro Chapter of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) also will present its “Best of the Best” Awards to select At Home exhibitors for excellence in seven categories: Imaginative Product Presentation; Innovative Product Design (Furniture); Social Responsibility, Ecological Sensitivity (Green); Lighting; Accessories; Floor coverings; and Wall Art.
