READ THIS: Quiet Bunny’s Many Colors by Lisa McCue
Peachy Deegan is a bunny lover having worn bunny slippers for most of her childhood and young adult life. So it’s no wonder she is excited about the Quiet Bunny’s Many Colors. This delightful book is in perfect timing for Easter’s arrival. However, I love this book for all year long too. It teaches colors to young children which is great. It can be read however by much older children as well. The illustrations are beautiful and totally engage all ages, even adults. The colors are vibrant and uplifting. You will fall in love with the quiet bunny who falls in love with every other color then the color of his fur. Learning that you can be great just the way you are is a wonderful message to teach young ones. Helping to Build confidence and self respect, the Quiet Bunny’s Many Colors is a must read.
Lisa McCue has done it again! Her second book, Quiet Bunny's Many Colors, in which she has both written and illustrated is fabulous! This fantastic story offers a great lesson that you can bring to your children. While you can and should appreciate the things around you, you must also learn to appreciate yourself. I was able to enjoy this story with my two children. Quiet Bunny's Many Colors was a hit with both of them. The illustrations live up to the name (there are indeed many colors), but more than that they are vivid and a treat for the eyes! My six month old was doing her best to get the pages with delight, while my 3 year old loved seeing the imaginative ways Quiet Bunny was going to transform himself into next! This story has become an spring time staple for afternoon reading outside on sunny days for this family. I suggest you add it to your routine this spring!
My three and half year old son and I loved "Quiet Bunny's Many Colors" written and illustrated by Lisa McCue. A sweet story of spring and all its loveliness, Quiet Bunny is a lovely book any child will enjoy reading over and over again. Quiet Bunny loves spring in the forest and above all else, he loves the colors of spring! He laments his "winter fur" of brown and white. Quiet Bunny wishes he could change the color of his fur to be more like the colors of spring in the forest. He desires to be yellow like the dandelions, green like the frogs, blue like the berries and red like the ladybugs! After exploring the forest and temporarily changing the colors of his fur, Quiet Bunny meets a wise owl who tells Quiet Bunny that he is beautiful just the way he is! The illustrations are beautiful, vivid and warm. The story reinforces basic colors for young children and also teaches them an important life lesson...they are beautiful just the way they are! "Quiet Bunny's Many Colors" is a new favorite in our house and will be in yours too!
I love this book! I cannot believe I hadn't ordered this book sooner. I loved the colors in the book, and that it was about colors. I have many readers that are still struggling and this was a perfect book for them. I loved watching them go through the book and learning the words on each page. The look of pride on their faces when they could finally read Quiet Bunny's Many Colors by themselves. I also loved the message Quiet Bunny learned at the end of the story. It's so important to teach our children that everyone and everything is beautiful. We also loved the surprise page at the end too. I have told many of my colleagues about this book and plan to order more to keep handy in my library at school.
In the brilliantly colorful follow-up to the bestselling Quiet Bunny, Lisa McCue’s delightful rabbit delivers a vibrant introduction to the world of colors in Quiet Bunny’s Many Colors (On-sale March 2011; $14.95, $17.95 Canada, Ages 4 to 6).
Quiet Bunny loves the bright colors of spring: the yellow ducks, green frogs, and blue jays-everything but his own brown, wintry white fur. However, each attempt to change the color of his coat results in unintentionally humorous mishaps. Covering himself in yellow honey and dandelions makes the poor bunny sneeze. The thick red mud he coats himself in hardens under the warm sun, and Quiet Bunny can no longer hop. It takes the help of a wise old owl for Quiet Bunny to realize that it's the rainbow of colors—including his own—that makes the world so beautiful.
Praised for her “canny sense of story-time dynamics” and her ability to create “a natural read-aloud”, Lisa McCue’s detailed landscapes and soft, textured brushstrokes adds humor and liveliness to the cheerful story of an adorable bunny who wants to stand out in the colorful world around him. A lovely story about the importance of being true to oneself and respecting differences, Quiet Bunny’s Many Colors is the perfect picture book for the whole family.
