Audi Partners with BAFTA for the Inaugural ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’ Event

Audi is honored to announce its partnership with the ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’ event, taking place Saturday July 9, 2011 at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. BAFTA’s President, HRH The Duke of Cambridge and HRH The Duchess of Cambridge will attend the event as part of their visit to California, helping recognize the incredible British talent currently emerging in the worlds of film, television and gaming.

‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’ in partnership with Audi will be supported by leading film, television and video game companies who will personally host tables at the black-tie event, and invite the top creative professionals both in front of and behind the camera to join them. The 42 hand-picked ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’ will also be seated at the tables, to make what could be the most important introductions of their careers, as well as having the chance to meet Their Royal Highnesses.

“Audi is proud to support BAFTA in recognizing both emerging and established talent and to be involved in this inaugural event,” said Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America. “Audi has become a mainstay within the entertainment industry, and we have supported BAFTA events in the U.K. for the past 10 years, so it makes this partnership a perfect fit. We applaud the rising stars of the film, television and gaming worlds and look forward to this wonderful evening.”

Audi is supporting their sponosorship of the event with a fleet of 2011 Audi A8 vehicles to chauffeur select guests to the event. This highly coveted vehicle is the brand’s all-new luxury flagship sedan complete with features such as a state of the art Bang & Olufsen® Advanced Sound System, Audi Drive Select and MMI Touch® capabilities.

‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’ will showcase the work of some of the finest emerging British talent to the most influential people in California, allowing them to find inspiration from amongst the greatest creative minds working in the business today. The event will also strengthen UK-U.S. partnerships across all areas of production, encouraging investment in UK talent and the UK’s production infrastructure, thereby creating one of the most important events in the industry to date.

Profits from the event will be used to continue to promote and support emerging British talent in Los Angeles through future events, scholarships and mentoring programs.
