Baby & Child Welcomes Newcomers to Summer NYIGF

With the addition of more than 25 new exhibitors and the debut of a new “Sit.Stay.Play” buyers lounge, the juried Baby & Child division will expand its offerings for the summer 2011 New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®).
“Since its launch 18 months ago, Baby & Child has evolved to feature 150 suppliers of the best juvenile resources,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. The division offers a depth of sophisticated and purpose-driven products for children 0-10 years, as well as access to thousands of complementary gift, home and lifestyle resources at NYIGF.”
Newcomers to Baby & Child include both first-time participants from across the U.S. and Europe, as well as current NYIGF exhibitors relocating into Baby & Child from other divisions.  First-time exhibitors include: Anamalz (sustainable wood animal toys); CLASS ATTIRE (writable chalkboard shirts); Diva Bands, LLC (hair accessories); Family Ties Collection (blankets, accessories and apparel); Finn + Emma (eco-friendly apparel); J.i.P Juniors in Progress by Present Time Inc. (toys, gear, décor and apparel); Little Mave (handcrafted girls’ clothing); Margery Ellen (solid pima and knit clothing and bedding); Marili Jean Accessories (hats and hair accessories); MY BLUE BUMBERSHOOT (umbrellas with stroller attachment); Oti Co. (knit apparel); Patouche (sustainable apparel); Pop & Lolli (wall decals and décor); Poppy Ltd.(clothing and bedding made in the U.K.); Swankie Blankie (blankets, robes, towels); The MU (magnetic toys); and TNS Studio, Inc (plush monster dolls).  Five current NYIGF exhibitors also will relocate from other NYIGF divisions intoBaby & Child: Kidorable, Piggy Story and Teamson Design Corp from General Gift and CBH studio and Edoche from Studio. 
In addition to these newcomers, several returning exhibitors also will expand their exhibit space within Baby & Child this August: Baby Deer/Trimfoot Co. LLC, Emily Green, Geared for Imagination, MadPax and manny & simon. 
A new “Sit.Stay.Play.” lounge, furnished and styled by – iglooplay by Lisa Albin Design and Offi – will debut on the Baby & Child exhibit floor in August. The lounge will serve as the location for an afternoon snack for retailers, compliments of Earnshaw’s,offered Saturday, August 13, through Wednesday, August 17, from 3:00PM–4:00PM.
The second semi-annual Baby & Child Best New Product Awards will recognizeinnovation in juvenile product design in four categories – gear, décor, toys and apparel – as selected by a panel of editors from trade and consumer publications and kid-centric blogs.
Baby & Child features 150 companies offering sophisticated and purpose-driven products for children 0-10 years.  Exhibitors include leading brands and innovative new resources in a wide range of products, including: arts and crafts, books, music, toys, games, puzzles, dolls and plush, gear (diaper bags, stroller accessories and feeding accessories), wearables and accessories, layette, bedding accessories and blankets.
Baby & Child runs Saturday, August 13, through Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Hours are 9:00AM-6:00PM daily, except for Wednesday, when the division closes at 5:00PM.
