BONHAMS MOVE INTO ROYAL VICTORIA HOUSE TUNBRIDGE WELLS OFFERING ACCESS TO WORLD ART MARKETS

Bonhams is to take part of the ground floor of Royal Victoria House in the Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells, as its new operational base in Kent and Sussex from Monday July 4th.  The building is so named as Queen Victoria stayed there presumably when taking the waters.
Royal Victoria House is situated within the famous Pantiles region of the town which provides a distinctive pedestrianised retail and business environment set amongst historic buildings.
Royal Victoria House provides refurbished office accommodation with a landmark period building. The office provides some 1,300 square foot of space.
A team of three Bonhams specialist valuers will be based in the new premises, Jeremy Sparks, the Regional Director, Patricia Law F.G.A, and George Dawes MRICS.
Jeremy Sparks who heads the operation, says: “We are delighted with our new quarters in bustling Tunbridge Wells which offers easy access from most parts of Kent and Sussex. In the Pantiles we will be offering a range of valuation services as well as sourcing works of art for sale in London and beyond. As Bonhams now has a presence in 27 countries on five continents the Tunbridge Wells office is in effect a doorway to the world market for art and antiques. We regularly source items that are sent to our salerooms in London, Edinburgh, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Sydney.

Bonhams, founded in 1793, is one of the world's oldest and largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques. The present company was formed by the merger in November 2001 of Bonhams & Brooks and Phillips Son and Neale UK. In August 2002, the company acquired Butterfields, the principal firm of auctioneers on the West Coast of America. Today, Bonhams offers more sales than any of its rivals, through two major salerooms in London: New Bond Street, and Knightsbridge, and a further four throughout the UK. Sales are also held in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Boston in the USA; and Switzerland, France, Monaco, Hong Kong, Australia and Dubai. Bonhams has a worldwide network of offices and regional representatives in 25 countries offering sales advice and valuation services in 57 specialist areas. By the end of 2009, Bonhams had become UK market leaders in ten key specialist collecting areas.
