READ THIS: Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me Chelsea’s Family, Friends, and Other Victims Foreward by Chelsea Handler, Afterword by Chunk the Dog
Chelsea Handler keeps getting smarter and smarter.
Because this time, she didn't even have to write the book-only the foreward!
Equalizing the playing field, her family and friends now leave nothing edited out which will delight you and leave you crying with laughter. Sometimes you will pity them but like Chelsea says...how could they be so gullible? And it is clear that it is all done out of love. You absolutely have to read this book and we highly recommend it. It is right up there with every other Chelsea Handler work in print.
Top Reasons to Read Lies...:
*Don't you want to know what the little blue bippies are and what they are falling out of?
*Chunk could be the next hot philosopher, nevermind wordsmith...an original Chunk quote: "It's like every generation of crazy is partying here today." (p. 285)
*Great tips on opening your next lemonade stand this summer
*Chelsea even uses the word whom correctly: on page 245
*And of course, the pictures are also priceless when they embellish stories such as this!
The only problem? Chelsea, you need to drink Star Vodka.
Please come to Manhattan and drink The Peachy Deegan-you have ten places to drink it at now!
Let Peachy know if you want to make the rounds...
Our panelist adds:
I've never read any of Chelsea's other books, but have wanted to. Time was just not on my side. I've always heard wonderful things about her books and wanted to read them all. Lies That Chelsea Told Me was the first I've had the pleasure of reading. I was so glad I did. I laughed so hard, I was crying during most of the book. I love that it was told from a point of view other than Chelsea's. It gave her friends and family a chance to get back at her, which I found absolutely genius. I cannot wait to read her other books now.
We highly recommended Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang as well:

No one is safe from the wicked wit and prank-loving ways of Chelsea Handler—especially the people she loves most—in this collection of hilarious original essays from those who’ve been at her mercy. “My tendency to make up stories and lie compulsively for the sake of my own amusement takes up a good portion of my day and provides me with a peace of mind not easily attainable in this economic climate.”—Chelsea Handler
It’s no lie: Chelsea Handler loves to expose “dumbassness,” the condition people suffer from that allows them to fall prey to her brand of complete and utter nonsense. Friends, family, co-workers—they’ve all been tricked by Chelsea into believing stories of total foolishness and into behaving like total fools. Luckily, they’ve lived to tell the tales and, for the very fi rst time—write about their humiliating experiences. As Chelsea so eloquently puts it in the foreword, “It’s not my fault that people are so stupid....”
