Top Ten Best Aspects of Best Shoe Displays at FFANY June 2011 According to Whom You Know

1. You Set the Stage for Your Brand.  Ted Baker of London had a nice English tea time theme.
2. You are Unique & Excellent.  A lot of these rooms look fairly similar and don't make an impression.  Dana Davis always has a top display.
3. You are an attentive brand that is engaging in a positive manner.  We were thrilled to hear Dana Davis went to Swifty's at Peachy's suggestion since we last saw her!  Now she needs to go to The Leopard with all of her fabulous leopard designs...
4. You are a brand that remembers people.  We suggest you take notes if you need to.
5. You are a Brand that is friendly and does not ask too many questions.  People coming to your room have shown the interest by walking in your door, so don't push them away.  They'll let you know when they have a question.
6. You have a pleasant smelling room-some brands have a chemical smell and this is immediately offensive. Bernardo Footwear and J. Litvack had gorgeous flowers and smelled the best.
7. You have easy to eat healthy food!  Die-hard shoe people are not going to stop for lunch but it is nice that they don't faint of hunger from their shoe obsession.  French Sole had the best display here.
8. People that rep their brand best!  Many people we met were absolutely phenomenal and of course we love to see our old friends too.  We are disappointed when we see people smoking in the stairwell and do not think this would make us endorse their shoes even if they are from Italy...cough cough.
9.  The 15th Floor.  We think it's the BEST!
10.  The Anna Capri shoes that Peachy Deegan wore: http://www.whomyouknow.com/2011/05/see-manhattan-on-your-feet-highly.html and she actually walked 11 miles in them yesterday according to her pedometer!  http://www.whomyouknow.com/2010/11/gotham-gadgets-americans-encouraged-to.html
