CHRISTMAS IN THE HOME: Chez Peachy & Real Estate Features Queried on Christmas by Peachy Deegan! Read Their Great Answers...

"In my home, my favorite Christmas decoration is an old toy-like log cabin. My grandfather found it outside a store in Fort Smith, AR in 1940 and asked if he could take it home to his daughter , to which they obliged. Turns out it is an old 'Log Cabin Syrup' in-store promotion and while my grandfather knew that, he also know that my mom (now 75) would love it. Given that the country was just coming out of the depression it made a wonderful Christmas gift. Today my daughter – 11 – plays with it and each holiday decks it out w/holiday cheer – a small tree, gifts, dolls, etc. It is a wonderful keep-sake that reminds us the joy that small gestures provide."

"My favorite decoration at home for Christmas is a beautiful Christmas tree decorated with small white lights and ornaments collected over the years. I love to sit late at night after everyone has gone to bed and watch the tree as it twinkles. At the same time I thank God for all sweet memories and good fortune that has been brought to me.
In Manhattan, my favorite Christmas decorations are the Tiffany and Bergdorf Goodman Christmas windows because they are always so creative and luxurious. They add a bit of decadence during this special season.
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and Happy New Year! XO…LIZ"

"In our home, my favourite Christmas decoration is a small handmade Drum with Drum sticks made from matchsticks because it was made by my Great-Grandmother and has graced our Family Christmas Tree for generations.
Although I am not lucky enough to live in Manhattan, I have been very privileged to visit it on many occasions especially at or near the Christmas season and my favourite city decoration for the holidays is the Rockefeller Centre Ice skating Rink, because on my first visit to NY as a child with my parents we went in the evening to the centre, it’s a wonderful memory and I can still feel the excitement many moon later."

"In my home, my favorite Christmas decoration is the Nativity Scene and village on my mantel because it combines pieces from my childhood with recent pieces we've collected as a family. I have a collection of tiny sparkly houses that cost 25 cents at Woolworths in the 1960s, a forest of little bristly pine trees and angels, animals and figurines from Mexico, Italy and New York City.
In Manhattan, my favorite city decoration for the holidays is the light display on the Empire State Building because you can see it from all over the city, from the surrounding boroughs and even from a plane coming into LaGuardia."
-Jackie Edelmann Frankstone, Owner of Stone + Mann Design, Inc.

"In my home, my favorite Christmas decoration is this tiny, less than 12 inches tall, Santa doll my grandmother loved because his beard is worn, his coat is faded and you have to prop him up against the tree because whatever we used to hang him up vanished long ago. But it's a part of my childhood, a part of my nanny -- and after all, I still believe in Santa.
In Manhattan, my favorite city decoration for the holidays is the snowflake on 57th Street and Fifth Avenue because it's like the city has decided to dress up with the perfect pendant (plus, I see it every day as my office is nearby)!”
