Take a Trip to Washington D.C. with DC 2 NY The Upscale Bus, Recommended by Whom You Know
We always say that most of the time, Manhattan is where it's at, however, it is no longer the capital city!
Introducing our inaugural coverage of DC 2 NY-a bus company with style that gets you from A to B efficiently, thoughtfully and with passengers around you that you'd welcome. We have never before recommended a bus company, so you know DC 2 NY must be good.
Once you have booked your online ticket, here is where you pick up the bus in New York-right near Madison Square Garden:
The bus looks like this:
Giovanni, the driver, was cordial and a good driver and drove at a fabulous pace. When we hit traffic outside of Washington he brilliantly took another route following his GPS...sometimes traffic is unavoidable but you should know how to best confront the challenge like he did. The bus is boarded efficiently and it is clean:
As a thoughtful gesture, each passenger is handed a bottle of water for the journey...and no doubt Peachy Deegan was reviewing a book or two on the way hence her highlighter's entry into the photo! Of course she only highlights in green. And when it gets dark, you have reading lights above-we must say we strongly prefer the white lights of one bus that were easier on the eyes to the florescent earthy lights of the other bus. One of the best aspects is that the crowd is pleasant-on both the trip down and the trip back Peachy Deegan was not put off by anyone else on the bus...how many bus companies can you honestly say THAT about?
New York will be behind you before you know it, and you will be headed south!
There is Wifi on the bus and we can vouch for the fact that it works perfectly. We tried it on both the trip down and the trip back.
If you glance on the monitor above, you might see New York there too as we did:
After the bus has boarded, a vote is taken as to if the crowd would prefer a movie or not, and is then given two movie choices. A vote is also taken for if you'd like to go direct, or stop for a 15 minute rest stop. We would recommend voting for the rest stop as the one we stopped at in Delaware-we believe it was the welcome center- was very clean and hopefully that is the one you will stop at too. This was our first time on this bus.
It dropped us off at Dupont Circle, and Dupont Circle is also where we boarded for the return trip. This time, the bus looked like the above photo. Vasily was cordial at the boarding of the bus and made sure everyone was taken care of, even someone who accidentally booked the wrong date.
This is the exact intersection that you will be picked up or dropped off at in Dupont Circle.
