READ THIS: SMART THINKING: Three Essential Keys to Solve Problems, Innovate, and Get Things Done by Art Markman, Ph.D. Introduction by Craig Wynett and Dr. Mehmet Oz

Of all of the aspects of Whom You Know, thinking is not something we lecture you to death on, because we know you are smart enough to read us!  We know we have a commanding audience from all three of Peachy's alma mater's so to that end, we know we have some pretty bright readers!  However, even if you have an ivy league degree, we think that every one of our readers should be open-minded enough to know that no one is perfect, and bettering yourself every day is something that you should do, and if not, at least consider.

Smart Thinking literally lays out ways you can improve your analytical skills in life!  It is a fast read and a work that we believe everyone can learn from.  Universally helpful, it shows you how to organize your thoughts and draw on vast amounts of information that you inevitably have acquired by simply living.  There are habits, and there are smart habits.  It shows you how to recognize each.   We totally agree with the good night sleep point-you absolutely need it every day.  The power of analogy is terrific.  Procedures are necessary.  There are so many points we could go over here, but the point is we want you to read the book!

Finally, we love this Culture of Smart...and remember, history rewards the people who succeed.

We all would like to be smarter at whatever we do, whether it is nailing a presentation to clients, creating new ways to accomplish everyday tasks, or improving our personal relationships. In this ground-breaking book, Dr. Art. Markman, a leader in the field of cognitive psychology, shows readers that by understanding how memory works, we can learn more effectively and use this knowledge to solve problems. We can develop smarter habits to learn more about the way the world works, to describe and analyze problems effectively, and be more successful in a wide range of endeavors.

In SMART THINKING: Three Essential Keys to Solve Problems, Innovate, and Get Things Done (Perigee Hardcover; January 3, 2012; $25.00 ), Dr. Markman defines the difference between “smart thinking” and innate or raw intelligence, and demonstrates how it is possible to learn Smart Thinking and apply it to the real world issues. He introduces a three-part formula for Smart Thinking comprising (1) smart habits that allows one to acquire (2) high quality knowledge and (3) the capacity to use that high quality knowledge when needed.

SMART THINKING examines each part of the formula to give readers:
An understanding of how the mind works and the means to replace self-limiting habits with those that foster smart thinking

— MORE —
Insights into how memory works and how to improve the quality of what one learns.
The means to apply and communicate knowledge using the powerful tools of similarity and analogy
The ability to define and solve problems by finding the relevant knowledge from any area of expertise and applying it effectively
The tools to help make the people around you smarter as well.

Using real world examples as well as personal and professional experiences, Dr. Markman provides a comprehensive and simple model to make us all smarter thinkers.
