Terrific Takeout: Columbus Tavern

If your dinner didn't look that fabulous last night, thank goodness you are reading Whom You Know because Peachy's going to tell you you should make a total beeline for Columbus Tavern!  Though at first glance at their website you may think she is going for this just because of their fantastic color combination of red, white and blue and patriotic nature, now that you've seen these gorgeous braised short ribs in red wine joined by porcini mashed potatoes, you see it truly is all about the cuisine.
They are quite generous with the potatoes and that is good news for every reader, especially if you are IRISH like Peachy!
The real winner here are these short ribs.  They are without a doubt the most tender and succulent short ribs we have had in quite some time and in the chill of January they absolutely hit the spot.  Get ready to fire up your cell phone because this could be your dinner tonight too, readers!  Jeremy and Patrick are ready to work with you and you want to work with them, too.
The beer mussels are not to be missed either.  We've had fine french mussels before in beautiful garlic sauces, but these were fresh, delicious and a singular sensation and unique with the innovative beer flavor.
Also, they lasted less than 5 minutes since Peachy love love loved them so much.  You can see from her beloved camera that this is the place for mussels.
And, they all were easily removed from the shells-no fighting trying to get even one open.
Also you should know they are served with grilled bread which was fluffy and welcome!
The Columbus Tavern salad is the salad to order: baby greens, avocado, radish, cucumber and our favorite of this mix-candied pecans, and Peachy normally is not even a big fan of them but here they are outstanding- make a great mix of all of those vegetables you want to be on your side of nutrition!

You know what to do!
Columbus Tavern is totally Terrific Takeout, and Whom You Know highly recommends it.
