Redken Creative Consultant Guido created a very Italian, very romantic look at Dolce & Gabbana yesterday morning in Milan to match the fanciful, “Romantic Baroque” inspired collection. Later in the day he switched gears entirely, speeding up in time to create a very sleek, modern 1970’s-inspired look at Versus last night, with a straight, slicked back, shiny finish.

“The whole look is really beautiful and exquisite: the clothes, the hair and the makeup - everything. The hair is very simple - center parted with a very loose knot. The inspiration for this look was based on Madonna and the idea of this religious icon. It’s very simple hair with very beautiful embellishments.”

Redken Products:
Create a clean center part in damp hair.
Using Body Full volume amplifier sprayed mostly at the roots, blow dry hair using fingers.
Gather hair over ears into a semi-tight ponytail.
Apply a small amount of All Soft Argan-6 oil for shine and smoothness before loosely twisting the pony and pinning it into a flat knot.
Add hair accessories (headband, barrettes, etc.).

“It’s a very severe, pulled back look. I used hair extensions to make the hair very long so it has a bit of a seventies feel to it but added various shine products to make it look very tough. It feels like the younger sister of the girl we saw on the runway the other night at Versace. It has all the same energy and power of Versace but it’s a little more rock and roll, a little sexier, a little cooler.”

Blow-dry damp hair straight using align 12 lotion.
Apply hardwear 16 gel to the top “u-shaped” section of the hair and brush back away from the face; secure with a black clip just above the crown.
Blow-dry crown after adding clip to set the style.
Flat iron all hair until pin-straight, and finish with shine flash 02.
