DONORSCHOOSE.ORG SELECTED AS BENEFICIARY OF 100 WOMEN IN HEDGE FUNDS ANNUAL NEW YORK GALA AND OTHER REGIONAL FUNDRAISERS

100 Women in Hedge Funds ("100WHF"), a leading non-profit organization for professionals in the Alternatives industry, has named DonorsChoose.org as the beneficiary of its annual Gala to be held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on November 14, 2012. DonorsChoose.org, an online charity connecting donors to classrooms in need, will also be the beneficiary of various 100WHF fundraisers throughout the United States this year.

Announcing the decision, Lauren Malafronte, 100WHF Board Member and Managing Director in Prime Services at Barclays, said, "It is an honor for 100 Women in Hedge Funds to support DonorsChoose.org, an innovative and highly impactful organization. We're proud to be involved with an educational cause that allows teachers to make a difference for millions of children across the country."

DonorsChoose.org engages public schools by giving people a simple, accountable and personal way to address educational inequity. The organization envisions a nation where children in every community have the tools and experiences essential to an excellent education.

Charles Best, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We are thrilled to be selected by 100 Women in Hedge Funds as this year's beneficiary and for their support in helping students across the country acquire the resources and experiences they need to thrive. Not only will their commitment help hundreds of thousands of high poverty students receive a better education, but their advocacy will also be a powerful tool in sharing the DonorsChoose.org giving experience with thousands of 100 Women in Hedge Funds members and supporters."

Every year the 100WHF Board of Directors selects one charity, within its philanthropic theme for the year, in the U.S., UK, and Switzerland. The philanthropic theme rotates between three areas: women's and family health, mentoring, and education. The 100WHF philanthropic theme for 2012 is education.

100WHF aims to leverage its collective abilities and expertise in order to give back to the community. To date, 100WHF has raised more than $25 million gross globally to make a difference for the organizations it supports.
