I can hardly believe my eyes every time that I realize that I have not shaved under my arms in weeks. Not because there is a poof of hair making me look like a European back in the day. But because I have a few very light hairs that I can barely see. After only 5 times at Advanced Derma Laser in the mid-town, my hair is starting to give up. My legs are smooth for many week before some stragglers pop up. My bikini is always looking great with a trim and clean appearance. It is probably one of the greatest things that I have ever done. Life changing.
At my most recent appointment this week, I went in without shaving for the last couple of weeks. The reason I did this was so that they could see some of the areas that the hair is being more resilient and they could target those areas even more. My ankles and big toe were two of those places along with some small spots on my thighs and bikini. So as I get undressed and ready to jump on the perfectly clean table, I am told that they have a new laser machine. Not really sure what that meant but I knew it must be good. Wow was that an understatement. It is a cold air laser. So while they are zapping each area of my body, there is a cold breeze that is constantly blowing and cool my skin after the heated shot. The difference was night and day. The pain was cut in half and completely gone on less sensitive spots. No need for pressure after each zap as the cooling relieved most of the pain. Plus, it was cut down on the time it took by at least 30%. Within 45 minutes, I had the most thorough treatment on my underarms, my bikini, my legs and toes and any other tiny spots like below my belly button that needed touching up.
The attention that I was given and the non-rushed attitude yet knowing my time was important of Jennifer (the owner, you should know that by now) staff was refreshing. I knew they were not doing this just to get it done and move on to the next appointment. Each part of my body was scoured over to make sure that each area had been properly treated and not one little hair was left behind. That should be their motto with the “No Hair left behind” act. I left the appointment with some red bumps which I was told was a good sign that the laser worked well and that was typical reaction. Within 12-24 hours, there was not one bump left. Every part of my body was left smooth and silky. With a final shave before I go, my body will be in tip top shape.
As I am leaving for vacation this weekend to the wonderful island of Nevis, I am thrilled to not have to worry for one second that I will have an embarrassing moment. Nor will I have to pack, pick up or do anything with a razor during my trip. Total confidence and carefree days ahead. Thanks to Jennifer and her team, they have provided a solution to a very annoying problem.
