Terrific Takeout: Numero 28

The best salad we've had recently is by Numero 28, which we are thrilled to say has made its way to the Upper East Side.  Titled "Spinaci," this delight of baby spinach -so cute, so fresh, so crunchy- paired with nicely sliced cherry tomatoes with clouds of ricotta floating in it will wow you.  Numero 28 is named after the original 28 Carmine Street location...which opened in 2007.  Actually we don't even see this 1431 First Avenue between 74, 75 location on their site so we hope we are the first to tell you!
After you have had a few vegetables, it is time to move on to an appetizer that will get your juices flowing: we recommend Prosciutto e Bufala: whole buffalo mozzarella served with prosciutto.  It is all about quality ingredients and we can confirm that this place totally understands what that means.
The piece de resistance is of course the pizza.  This is quality, gourmet-level pizza and one of the best we've tried on the Upper East side, now that they've been here a couple of weeks!  Under the Pizza Bianche category, we tried the Vegetariana holding the olives (you know who does not care for olives!): mozzarella, green peppers, mushrooms and artichokes combine for a winner of a taste combination.  Peachy chose to add pepperoni and onions to the party.
Numero 28 is Terrific Takeout!
