Peachy at The Met:Exhibition of Works by Dürer and Other Masters at Metropolitan Museum Highlights Achievements in Central European Draftsmanship 1400-1700
This exhibit was covered previously here:
And this weekend, Peachy Deegan visited the Met to see it! Roundel with Christ healing the blind man (1522 or later) in the first room (of three) is a gorgeous stained glass piece that you should take the time to stop and see. It's from the Cloisters collection. This one and two others may be the only surviving examples...We liked the dogs in the exhibit: you'll see a Greyhound and a Saluki, a coursing hound, in the second room.
Four Tulips by Jacob Marrel, shown above, in the third room jumped out at us too and they made the Met's digital press kit we are glad to say! We also liked seeing the eastern facade of Old St. Paul's Cathedral circa 1656-8 (in London of course) in this third room and of the three rooms, this was our favorite. Of everything in the exhibit of course we liked the Design for a Chandelier with Sixteen Candles (1632) and if we had a picture of it, it would be in Chandelier Peachy!
