In "Eloise's Mother's Day Surprise," Eloise needs to go shopping for Mother's Day. Eloise and Weenie put on their sunglasses and their "springtime best" and head out to do some shopping. They purchase chocolate (Godiva, of course), flowers, a ring (from Tiffany's, where else?) and a hat (Saks Fifth Avenue, dahling)! After their shopping spree, they head back to The Plaza. Once back at The Plaza, Eloise surprises Nanny with a rose and chocolate! Eloise loves, loves, loves to shop and she loves, loves, loves Mother's Day!

This was one of the nicer Eloise books, we think. I read it out loud to my class and they all agreed that this was their favorite Eloise book where she didn't get in too much trouble. We all loved that she wanted to find that perfect gift for her mom. We all can't wait until it gets closer to Mother's Day so we can create that perfect surprise for our mothers. We have the help of each other to find things moms would like, just like Eloise had help. Mother's Day, here we come!

A very sweet tale from Manhattan’s original blue-blood, Eloise. As Spring arrives, Eloise knows that Mother’s Day is on its way. And what does one who lives in the tippy-top floor of the plaza get their mother? Well the best best best of everything. From Godiva chocolates to jewelry from Tiffany & Co, Eloise leads the recovery. Yet, when it comes down to it her Mother is not the only one who benefits from Eloise’s day of shopping. Eloise pays tribute to the woman who really raises her…Her Nanny!

As a mother, I must agree with Eloise. Mother must have the best, best, best! I mean, can you really argue with this precocious 6 year old? From Tiffany to Saks, I hope my little girls remember this story come May. I must also admit that I put this in the cue when it is my husband's turn to read. I mean, it is a great story to read and it helps everyone learn. Hehe!

Eloise's Mother's Day Surprise is a wonderful book to read with your child right before Mother's Day. It is a wonderful book that helps bring a bond of mother and daughter together. It's an easy read for level 1 readers. It's also fun to re-live your childhood by reading this book too! You'll get sucked in just like the children do. I also think this book is a wonderful gift to any child.
