SCAE World of Coffee, Vienna 2012: REGISTER NOW – ‘THE WORLD OF COFFEE’ AWAITS YOU… - and there are some special treats in store
Europe’s largest coffee industry event, SCAE World of Coffee 2012, will soon take place in the stunning capital city of Vienna, Austria. (12-15 June, Messe Wien). Online registration is now live, the website offers a host of visitor and exhibitor facilities at www.scae-events.com Renown for its traditional coffee house culture, Vienna is the ideal choice for a coffee event and to mark the occasion, SCAE has partnered with one of Vienna's biggest names in coffee to create a special coffee offering.
Together with Austrian coffee company Julius Meinl, SCAE will be presenting a very special rarity: the single estate coffee Pasión de Brasil as its signature coffee for SCAE World of Coffee, Vienna 2012. The newest product comes from the fertile highlands of Brazil and matures under the shining South American sun. The captivating full aroma is rounded by a delicate chocolate flavour and fruity notes. The provenance of this coffee from Brazil’s Carmo Estate region makes these arabica beans a true delicacy. Coffee production at Carmo Estate is run by the fifth generation of the Junqueira family and has its roots in the town of Heliodora near the mountainous landscape of southern Minas Gerais. Jeanette Skrbensky Meinl, personally selected this single estate coffee. (Jeanette is also a judge for the SCAE ‘New Product’ of the Show Awards.)
In addition, as part of the Julius Meinl 150 year anniversary celebrations the partnership with SCAE's World of Coffee event will be extended to the public, as the World Barista Championship finals on Friday the 15th of June will be live-streamed to a stage in the City Centre in Vienna. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the coffee loving public to see and understand the artistic talent and skill required to become the very best Barista in the World.

The much-anticipated SCAE ‘Business of Coffee’ conference is a new feature for SCAE World of Coffee, Vienna 2012 event. This conference which takes place on 12th June in The Hotel Imperial (conference partners) has been designed as a platform for comment, advice and debate on the industry.

It is perfect for anyone with an interest in coffee, a desire to educate themselves further and/or an interest in developing their network of contacts. Volunteering is also great fun! SCAE needs volunteers for all parts of the event from the forum, to the competitions, to the conference. Shifts vary in length and quantity but will last from a minimum of 5 hours. Volunteers can do as little or as much as they like”.

SCAE World of Coffee, Vienna 2012 is also home to some of the biggest competitions for coffee enthusiasts and talented barista throughout the world. Hosting the world's pre-eminent international coffee competition, the 'World Barista Championship' (WBC). Other competitions taking place will be the 'World Brewers Cup', the 'World Cup Tasters Championship' and the ‘Ibrik/Cezve Championship’. The new ‘Coffee Roasting Challenge’ debuts in Vienna. This is the precursor to the 2013 World Coffee Roasting Championship, a competitive event designed to feature the talent and skill of the dedicated men and women involved in the artisanal craft of roasting speciality coffee.
