Kona Typica Coffee by Kope Kapea Recommended by Whom You Know!
Coffee in the morning is essential for me. It is not only a wake up drink for me, but also a cherished morning treat. I like to make sure my coffee is high quality which is why I love Kope Kapea's Meahuna Kona Typica coffee! Kona Typica is known for being bold and smooth. It is truly a great pick for early mornings towards the end of the week when I'm feeling sluggish and need a pick me up. It has a slight nutty, caramel flavor to it that I absolutely love. This coffee is so fresh and has an aroma to die for as well! This coffee makes those tough days for waking up much more manageable and enjoyable!
As a coffee lover, I am very picky about my coffee. It must be strong, but not bitter, robust but not overwhelming. And one of my favorite varieties of coffee is Kona coffee. It's such a delicacy in the coffee world, as the climate and mineral-rich volcanic soil in the Kona regions of Hawaii are ideal for growing coffee! I've sampled a number of Kona coffees before, but recently had the opportunity to try the Meahuna Kona Typica from Kope Kapea. And, wow! This is, hands down, one of the best coffees I've ever tasted. Its smooth, rich flavor, is marked by undertones of nuts and caramel, and the finish is long, but mellow. Because of the nut and caramel flavors, it would likely pair very well with a Snickers bar, but in the spirit of keeping things Hawaiian, I paired it with some Dark Criollo Chocolate from Original Hawaiian Chocolate - truly a match made in heaven!
Kona Typica is everything but typical. It is artisan, straight from Hawaii. Its boldness will make sure you are up-and-at-em before the rest, fueling your innate spirit of competitiveness that brought you to Manhattan, and will help you stay here. We love finding great American brands such as Kope Kapea, and this is another winner of a flavor. The nuttiness is subtle and not overwhelming, which I prefer. This is something that you'll want to sip all day!

American palates have been compromised by decades of over-processed coffee. They have been dominated by octane-label gas station coffee, bland-or-burn-for-profit franchise coffee, mask-the-taste flavored coffee, specialty coffee from places most wouldn’t dare visit, and now single cup convenience offering mediocrity for the price of premium.
It’s time to get what you pay for. Kope Kapea LLC has created a brand of coffee called MEAHUNA (may-ah-WHO-nah), the Hawaiian word for “secret.” Their cherry-picked collection of single-origin coffees will reinvigorate your palate.
Their artisan roaster has perfected roasting profiles to offer flavor signatures with depth: layered textures, undertones, and hints of natural/organic influences. All offerings are single origin, a single varietal from single plantations.
The MEAHUNA brand includes nine coffees from Hawaii and Jamaica Blue Mountain. Four of them are Peaberry, the bolder nuttier single bean per shade-grown cherry, typically only 3% of the crop. Two are from Kona. The others are from Maui and Kauai, with one a chemical-free 99.9% Decaf. All beans are graded and certified by either the Hawaii Department of Agriculture or the Coffee Board of Jamaica.
The product line (excluding JBM) is grown and harvested in the United States. All varietals are roasted, packaged and labeled locally to ensure peak freshness. The only process performed outside of the USA is decaffeination, which happens in Canada. The grower first sends beans to British Columbia, and then shipped back to Hawaii after the Swiss Water Process is complete.
