Lime Rock Park’s ‘First Responder' Press Announcement & Picnic is this Sunday, May 20, in West Hartford

Lime Rock Park is going to make a special announcement Sunday, May 20, during a picnic on the front lawn of the West Hartford Town Hall concerning its season-opening races, the “Lime Rock Season-Opener featuring Trans Am and Royals Garage Car Show.”

A host of men and women from police, fire and emergency-services units all across Connecticut have been specially invited to attend the event; the announcement concerns them.

Since the 1970s, Lime Rock has traditionally opened its racing season over the Memorial Day weekend. This year, the dates are Friday, May 25, Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27 (car show).

The Sunday, May 20 press conference/picnic begins at noon, the announcement will be made at 1:00, and the “Hummel Bros. Hot Dog Picnic” will end around 4:00 p.m.

The West Hartford Town Hall address is 50 S. Main Street, West Hartford, 06107.

The public is also invited.

Drivers and cars from the various championships racing at Lime Rock over the Memorial Day weekend will also be there.

Lime Rock Park is in Connecticut’s Northwest Corner, opening April of 1957, and 2012 is the historic circuit’s 55th “Birthday.”
