William Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay Highly Recommended by the Champagne Wishes Panel of Whom You Know!

There's nothing better in summer than sitting outside enjoying a nice bottle of wine. It is one of my absolute favorite activities to do with my friends! William Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay really hits the spot at these times! Its ripe fruit flavors give it a nice sweetness that goes well with fresh appetizers! It is a medium acidity and is very smooth which is exactly the way I like my wine! Its flavor notes of baked apple, toasty oak, Carmel and brown spice really shine through while enjoying it. It is a beautiful, rich golden color which shows that it is a high quality wine as well. I shared this bottle amongst a couple of friends and some Brie with grapes and crackers. Everybody loved the Chardonnay and we finished this bottle quick! What a fabulous way to spend the evening!
The temperature is getting warmer, and my taste for wine is changing. Throughout the colder months I tend to drink red wines. Once spring arrives, however, I start looking for some delicious white wines to try! I am so glad to have found William Hill Chardonnay. The wine has an extremely smooth texture. It is almost buttery. The flavor has apple and tropical fruit notes to it. It even has some hints of toasted oak. If you are looking to have a relaxing evening outside enjoying the weather, William Hill Chardonnay is a great choice. Perfect with dinner or all on its own!
After a hectic day of running around in the city, I arrived home feeling like a bit of a wilted flower. I needed to cool down and relax, and I knew just the right way - by cracking open the bottle of William Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay I had chilling. This was my first time trying this chardonnay, and I'm happy to report that I found it absolutely delightful. With aromas of apple and caramel, marked by a bit of spice, this wine is on the sweeter end of the chardonnays I've tried. It's medium-bodied with a moderate mouth feel and a very smooth finish. Like most chardonnays, it is buttery and oaky, but not overwhelmingly so. A healthy amount of acidity balances out the heavier flavors, making for an extremely enjoyable wine. I paired it with apple and cheese slices, and found it to be a perfect snack. Because of its sweetness and caramel flavors, though, I can easily see myself enjoying a glass as a nightcap, as well! It would also be a surefire crowd-pleaser at parties, which is something I'll keep in mind as those summer barbecues approach. One thing is for sure, though - no matter how I enjoy it, this wine is sure to be in regular supply at my apartment this summer!
A promise of summer comes in a bottle. A California Chardonnay, from the famous Napa Valley, chilled, is the perfect cap to a long day in the office. It's crisp, with a hint of the oak, and just a slight hint of sweet. Break out the bottle, being friends home from work, and enjoy an hour with this harbinger of warmer days to come.  It's delightful with a cheeseboard, not too tangy, and a whole wheat baguette. Or a quiche, made with leeks and some potato would be a great balance. This is a wine that holds its own and delights the tastebuds. Not too fruity, and nice and dry, the way a chardonnay should be. And what a surprise the next day, too! The flavors have mellowed a bit, once the bottle has been allowed to breathe. It's like having two different wines in one bottle. The same crispness is there, but the levels of taste have developed and grown. This is a wine to savour.
William Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay is amazing! I am a true fan of this wine! This is an amazing Chardonnay. The beautiful golden color puts a smile on my face. I love pouring myself a glass and watching the color dance. The rich fruit flavors and delicious taste are magnificent! Its light on your tongue oh and not to mention it dances in your mouth! Serve this wine up with some light aperitifs and enjoy it to the last drop. I really can't say enough about this Chardonnay. Get yourself a bottle and see for yourself!

Down the road from William Hill Estate lie some of the world’s finest Chardonnay vineyards. The hillside grapes of Carneros gave our 2010 William Hill Estate Napa Valley Chardonnay green apple notes and bright acidity, while the warmer regions north of Carneros brought a richer character to the wine, with ripe red apple and caramel flavors.

Ingenuity and Artistry Converge at William Hill

Tucked away in the rolling hills of Napa Valley, along the Silverado Trail, lies an undiscovered stretch of picturesque benchland vineyard. William Hill Estate Winery sits at the center of this vineyard – in the heart of the Silverado Bench – crafting contemporary, sophisticated wines that tell the story of a very different kind of Napa Valley.

A Napa Valley that is off the beaten path. A Napa Valley where wine connoisseurs get an intimate wine tasting experience along the Silverado Trail.

In 1978, visionary vineyard developer William Hill saw the incredible potential of the Silverado Bench, where he built his namesake winery. Three decades later, William Hill winemaker Ralf Holdenried is making modern wines that speak to the unique terroir of this virtually unknown area of southern Napa Valley.

A Unique Estate Vineyard

A confluence of characteristics makes William Hill’s 140-acre estate an ideal vineyard. Set on a benchland – off the valley floor, but below the steeper slopes of the hills – with a southwestern exposure, the vineyard basks in abundant sunlight. Vineyards in Southern Napa are typically cooler, but the sun exposure on the Silverado Bench makes William Hill a notable exception.

The vineyard is close to the valley floor climatically, but the volcanic soil and the size and vigor of the vines means William Hill is more like a mountaintop vineyard. These elements translate to fruit-driven, expressive red Bordeaux varietals with elegant tannin structure.

Significant variation in aspect, drainage and sun exposure – even from row to row – has prompted winemaker Ralf Holdenried to carve out specific vineyard blocks, some as small as one-tenth of an acre. The grapes from each block are picked at their optimal ripeness and fermented separately, allowing Ralf to bring the full expression of the vineyard into the bottle. The result is a range of concentrated, balanced blends with multi-dimensional layers.

A Contemporary Winery

It is no coincidence that William Hill Estate Winery was designed with the winemaker in mind. The vineyard is just outside the winery door, giving Ralf the freedom to be involved in every aspect of the winemaking process. “During harvest, I want to be out in the vineyard where all the flavors are developing, but I also want to be in the winery for the next steps,” says Ralf. “At William Hill, I have the great luxury of seeing what we’ve picked in a given day and then tasting from the fermentation tanks, almost instantaneously.”

Ingenuity converges with artistry at William Hill, a midsize artisanal winery. Designed for optimal flexibility, the winery supports Ralf’s approach of carving out vineyard blocks and letting their flavors develop individually. “The number of tanks and barrels we have in relation to the grapes on the land means I can make decisions about blending once the individual lots have had a chance to show their true potential,” explains Ralf. “This winery facilitates an artistic influence over the wine.”
