The other pair features a design based on the monumental gates which Brandt created for the 1925 Paris Exposition and carries an estimate of £12,000-15,000.

The third Brandt piece in the sale is a superb wrought iron and marble console table, made around 1925. It boasts sweeping supports with elaborate floral motifs and applied beaded elements and is estimated at £30,000-40,000.

At the height of his fame, Brandt was the epitome of style, supplying pieces for the homes of the rich and famous, iconic buildings such as the world famous Parisian department store, Au Bon Marché, and luxury ocean-going liners. The pieces in the sale were all bought direct from Brandt who had a Paris showroom on the Boulevard Malesherbes as well as a gallery in New York.
