Champagne Wishes: Santa Cristina Bianco 2011 Highly Recommended by Whom You Know-You all Need a Lovely Summer White in June!
White wines are especially excellent during the summertime. They are always incredibly refreshing and go so well with summer foods! I love dining outdoors and enjoying a nice bottle of wine in the meantime. When I first saw the bottle of Santa Cristina 2011 Bianco, I was so attracted to the label! The label on this bottle has such a great authentic Italian appearance which really entices you to open the bottle and start drinking it! This Bianco is an authentic white blend from Umbria which is a part of Tuscany. This is one of Santa Cristina's newest wines and is considered a contemporary evolution of the classic wines they've always made. This Bianco was built on the desire to bring American wine lovers a white wine that is equally desired as a red wine would be. I can honestly say that I like this wine as much as I like my reds, which is not common! It has aromas of orange citrus, cinnamon spice and floral notes which give this wine such a sweet, refreshing taste! I enjoyed this wine with a filet of salmon and steamed vegetables and it paired wonderfully! What a great way to kick off the summer!
26 generations. And, as they say, "Santa Cristina never gets old." It's from the Antinori family, with methodology that includes the best of the wine industry. Selection of grape, manual harvesting, and temperature control make for excellent wines. By looking at their website, you can prepare a list of must-have for trying all summer long. the Santa Cristina Bianco 2011 comes from an early harvest. A blend of grechetto and procanico grapes produce this carefully cultivated white wine , now available in the US. Santa Cristina was first bottled in 1946, in Cortona, with it's ancient history. Even Pope Paul III delighted in special wines from these vineyards, from a fertile valley that developed between the 7th and the 8th centuries B.C. The Antinori family, in the region for decades, built a modern facility, just finished in 2006, with a view towards the evolution of their company. Their new wine has complex fruity notes, a bit of bergamot, some florals and cinnamon. It's a refreshing white wine with a soft palate, and a lingering finish. From the Umbrian, with hints of the ancient history that supports this loving tradition, comes the newest member of the family.
After a long, hard day in the steamy, sultry New York heat, there is nothing better than relaxing with a cool glass of white wine. And this summer, I know what my white wine of choice will be. For a change, it's not going to be Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, or Chardonnay. What's left, you ask? Well, I'll tell you: Santa Cristina's delightfully refreshing Bianco 2011. An Umbrian wine made from Grechetto and Procanico grapes, this wine literally dances on your tongue and leaves you feeling calm, cool, and collected. The nose is full of floral and citrus notes, with just a hint of spice. These notes carry over to the palate, where they mingle together and gently linger. The finish is smooth and sweet, with a pleasant crispness. It's incredibly easy-drinking, and, in my opinion, an ideal way to counteract the summer heat. It is also remarkably versatile, and would pair well with many types of foods, especially fish, white meats, and crisp greens. It's a surefire crowd-pleaser, but is equally enjoyable as an end-of-the-day treat for oneself! For me, at least one thing is certain: whether I'm planning to have friends over or simply enjoy some alone time, my refrigerator will always have a bottle (or two!) of this delectable libation chilling and ready to go this summer!
For me, nothing is better than a good glass of wine after a bad day at work. The other day, I needed a glass of wine after coming home and decided to open up the Santa Cristina 2011 Bianco I just received. It was the perfect wine to help me unwind. I immediately was able to pick up the aromas of citrus. I was able to faintly taste citrus under hints of green apple when enjoying. As I was enjoying my Santa Cristina Bianco wine, I had a bowl of chunky vegetable soup I had recently made. It was a perfect pairing. I typically keep white wines stocked in my wine cabinet because they are my favorites. I typically have my standard ones I always pick up from the store. I will now have to look for this wonderful Bianco wine! If you are looking for a wine to take with you to parties or for just any time, the Santa Cristina 2011 Bianco is the wine to bring. I know this will be the wine I bring with me to my next pitch in!
Santa Cristina 2011 Bianco Review is perfection in a bottle. This beautiful wine just pops with its amazing gold color. I just love popping this bottle open and smelling the delicious orange citrus and floral aromas. I like to keep my white wines as chill as possible. This one is a wonderful wine to crack open on a hot summer day. Enjoy it by the glass on its own or with some light aperitifs. The delicious citrus flavor really makes for a happy mouth. I love the lingering taste it leaves on my palate. It really is a refreshing wine. One of the most delectable on the market. Hurry up and get yourself a bottle while you can find it on the shelf! You will enjoy it to the last drop.

Additional Background:
Santa Cristina was originally introduced in 1946 as a Chianti Classico by Piero Antinori’s father, Niccolo. With the passage of the 1984 DOCG laws requiring lower vineyard yields, Chianti Classico grapes became so complex and rich that they required more aging than this fruity fresh wine should have to maintain its style and character. With the 1987 vintage, Santa Cristina moved away from the Chianti Classico designation and with the 1994 vintage, Antinori began including 10% Merlot to the blend to add soft, open fruit nuances to the wine.
