When it comes to Fashion, every future development that we learn of excites us and intrigues us, and when we find something spot-on fantastic, we of course tell YOU, brilliant readers! Fashion Futures is the latest and the greatest in the Merrell Publishing Hit Parade, and right from the minute when you open the cover, you know they are on trend as cut outs are so in right now- and that is precisely what the cover is!
We love the geometric cuts that appeal to the eye and punctuate the best pages. On page 46 you'll see the Crystallographica collection which is stunning! You'll see what Studio XO does for the Black Eyed Peas, who have some of the most futuristic looks we've ever seen (and luckily, in person too!) Motorcycle racing suits and running outfits celebrate the sportier side of fashion, and you know we are proponents of that.
How brilliant the thermochromatic materials are that we learn about and see on pages 120-121! The reactive nature in response to temperature affecting color, our colour as our pal Hugh would have it, are incredibly cool.
Vending machine sneakers on Carnaby Street make us want to book the next flight to London. Where are these in New York? Again, another level of cool. Obviously, you need to know your size but imagine the convenience if your heel breaks or you want instant gratification in shoes~!
This book does push limits and there seem to be many extremes, but that only makes it that much more interesting. Of course, Peachy Deegan would not walk down Madison Avenue wearing much of what she sees here, but her brain will look better knowing all of the latest and greatest innovations to learn that can be gradually employed to put us and therefore you on the cutting edge of fashion! Up with technology in fashion! It is fascinating.
Whom You Know Highly Recommends Fashion Futures.
Today fashion is moving forward at a faster pace than ever before, with advancing technologies and new materials reinventing clothing as we know
it. Futuristic garment designs are often inspired by surprising sources: biological science, climate change, space suits, artificial intelligence, genetic engineering and nanotechnology. Fashion Futures offers a fascinating
survey of these new directions, charting the transformational products, design processes, maverick materials and groundbreaking practitioners that are revolutionizing fashion. Design expert Bradley Quinn also explores radical retail operations, fashion forecasting and the relationship between fashion
and other disciplines. Featuring inspirational interviews with international trend forecasters and designers, and packed with illustrations of extreme designs and prototypes, Fashion Futures is a thought-provoking overview
of how fashion will look, perform and be manufactured and purchased in the twenty-first century.
