Souverain 2010 North Coast Chardonnay Recommended by Whom You Know
When I think of summer wines, I immediately think of Chardonnay. A tried and true classic, sometimes there's just nothing like sipping on a glass of it on a steamy summer night. I had the delight of trying the Souverain 2010 North Coast Chardonnay the other evening, and it instantly became one of my favorite Chardonnays. I tried it at the end of a very long, stressful day in Manhattan, and it instantly put a smile on my face. On the nose were aromas of pear, apple, honeysuckle, tropical fruits and lemon. Just inhaling it, I think my shoulders went down about two inches! And when I tasted it, I found it to be very full bodied, rich, and complex. The tropical fruit flavor was prominent, and marked by hints of vanilla and caramel. The finish was creamy and smooth - just right! I would highly recommend this wine to anyone looking for a great, go-to chardonnay, especially as we head into warmer weather!
Is there anything better than a nice glass of Chardonnay at the end of a long day? I don't think I can think of anything better. I've tried many different wineries chardonnays, but none like the 2010 North Coast Chardonnay by Souverain Winery. The straw yellow color seems very relaxing swirling around in the glass as you are sitting outside enjoying the sunset. The first scent I picked up was pineapples. Pineapples are my absolute favorite fruit, so as I drank my wine, I snacked on some pineapple. As I was enjoying my glass out on my deck, I noticed flavors of tropical fruits and creme brulee. Because of this, I was able to enjoy this wine all by itself. I could also taste an oak backdrop as I finished each sip. This has to be one of the richest, creamiest chardonnay wines I have ever tasted. Not only did I love this wine with my pineapple dessert, it was a perfect companion to my chicken dinner. I have several friends who love chardonnay and this will be a wine I can give them as a gift. I highly recommend it!
2010 North Coast Chardonnay is so delicious! I love this crisp and refreshing wine. First of all look at the beautiful color when you fill up your glass on a nice hot summer day. That beautiful yellow just draws you in. I love the delicious fruit flavor that pops in my mouth right at the first sip. Match this amazing Chardonnay with a delicious platter of cheeses or cured meats. I love the fresh aroma of the wine. It goes well on it's own or match up with foods. Take this refreshing wine with you to a picnic in the park. Take it to a house party! This bottle of wine will be GONE in a snap! Pop open the bottle and enjoy!
Chardonnay. Usually not my favorite of the white wine family. When you are talking about Souverain's 2010 North Coast Chardonnay, well, that is a horse of a different color! This is perhaps the best Chardonnay that I have ever had the honor of drinking. With carefully selected grapes, handpicked by Winemaker Ed Killian, this Chardonnay is sure to be a star. The actual process of making this wine seems quite intricate to the novice (me) and involves pressing the Chardonnay grapes as whole clusters "to yield the most delicate juice possible". After pressing the grape clusters, the juice was fermented in a combination of French oak and stainless steel. This process produced a magnificent Chardonnay. I enjoyed this wine on an unseasonably warm spring evening while unwinding after a busy, busy day. It was the perfect end to my evening. Even my husband (who is not a wine drinker) enjoyed a glass with me. I highly recomment Souverain's 2010 North Coast Chardonnay. Get yourself a bottle (or two) today, you will not regret it!
As they say: "the proof is in the pudding". But at Souverain, "the proof is in the bottle". Souverain has had a 60-year long love affair with wines. Their goal is to provide consumers with a wine that pairs easily with many menus and gives an attainable price point. With its smooth palate and Alexander Valley vines, their wines give exceptional quality for an everyday enjoyment. The North Coast Chardonnay, 2010, floats a blend of flavors: pineapple, and tropical fruits with a nose of white flowers. The oak taste lends a creamy note and pairs with basil dishes, or a tangy gazpacho. Perfect for summer sipping, the Chardonnay boasts 9 months in the barrel and a multi-layered complexity. The aftertaste has a hint of creme brulee, with a rich feel in the mouth.
The winemaker, Ed, walks the vineyards everyday, and pick at the peak of fruit-filled glory, to give the wine it's distinctive Souverain personality. As a cultivator of hallmark wines, Souverain imbues it's bottles with flavor that's not too acidic, and lovely to drink with, before, and during meals. The whole clusters of grapes, pressed to achieve more flavor, then become a delicate wine that pleases the palate.
