Russ Cohen has been featured as a Mover and Shaker:
Russ is a Mover and Shaker because he wrote a great book:
Here is what he thought at the beginning of the playoffs:
And the last round:
And Peachy Deegan weighed in with him to see what he thinks now that we have reached the Stanley Cup Finals!

Peachy Deegan: Since the Kings scored first in Game 1 do you think that gives them a leg up in the series?
Russ Cohen: Not at all. The Devils have made it a habit to drop Game 1 and win Game 2 and then some.

We thought the Kings exhibited stronger forechecking and cleaner passes....what do you think?
At times the Kings did but the Devils dominated play, but didn't score, midway in the third period just before the Kings scored in OT.

Do you think home ice advantage means anything at this stage or does it just come down to the talent, grit and energy of each team?
I think it means a lot, especially if you can make it to Game 7.

What team do you feel is reading the game better and why?
I think the Kings knew what the Devils would throw at them better than the Devils knew what the Kings would do.

Do you think Martin Brodeur is over the hill and is there a magic number for a hockey retirement age?
Over the hill, no. He's having a terrific playoff run but I think he should retire after this to keep his reputation intact.

Which coach do you think is more capable of changing the momentum in the series?
Peter DeBoer. He thinks outside the box more often and will change a game plan midstream.

New Jersey has played more playoff games than LA. Do you think their greater probable fatigue affects their play and if so to what degree?
I don't think so because the number of games didn't reach the New York Rangers number.

Prior to Game 1, do you think the East or West was stronger in the first 3 rounds and did your opinion change after Game 1?
I felt like the East was stronger and this hasn't changed my opinion.

In the Geico commercial they highlight hockey fights and ice resurfacers 75 years ago. What other aspects of 75 years ago in hockey should be highlighted?
No masks, no slapshots, no ice girls and no surly studio commentators.

What thoughts, hopes and expectations do you have for the NHL draft this summer?
To be there, to broadcast (and we will have a show on Friday and Saturday), to have fun. To hope that my picks are reasonably close, within 10 slots.

In the book Moneyball, Michael Lewis captured the idea that a great team can be built on winning statistics. Do you believe that this can be done in hockey as well as baseball or do you think there are too many intangible measures in hockey for this to be as successful a strategy?
I don't think this works in hockey. There are some stat guru's who are cursing me right now but I've seen no evidence of it.

Do you think it is a coincidence that LA and NJ (which is part of the NY market) are successful because they are such major cities with major markets?
I think it's a fair point. Although the Kings have struggled over the years they have been trending towards this since last season.

What is your final Stanley Cup prediction-do you believe in the monarchy or in the opposite of heaven?
Huh, what? Sorry too tired. I pick the Devils in 7.

What else should Whom You Know readers know about hockey, which we believe to be the greatest game on earth?
That the players lose teeth, break tibia's and yet they get stitched up or tended to and they get right back out there.

How would you like to be contacted by Whom You Know readers?
