Help Save a Young Man's Life! A Note from our friend, Nicolina Bruno

Peachy's friend Nicolina Bruno tells Whom You Know:

Recently, a good friend of mine, Tyler Schroeder, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. His family does not have the money to help him fight his cancer, so I decided to start an online fundraiser. The site is www.giveforward.com/thetylerfund
[Whom You Know contacted giveforward.com and they were not available for comment.  We are not endorsing this site in any way-only Nicolina and her specific cause.]

Tyler is twenty six years old and has been diagnosed with cancer. An adventurous life decision brought Tyler to South Korea to teach English. A few months ago, chronic back pain brought Tyler to a hospital in Seoul. Tyler accredited the pain to a slipped disc, but soon after found the pain was caused by a malignant tumor at the C1 and C2 vertebrae. The original analysis suggested that Tyler has a rare form of cancer called Primitive Neuroectodermal (PNET). Today, it is confirmed that Tyler is diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Ewing's Sarcoma is a rare form of bone cancer.

Tyler has undergone a long journey that began in Korea. After two grueling surgeries, the doctors in Seoul recommended that Tyler return to the United States to continue treatment. Tyler was admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. In total, Tyler has undergone three surgeries, and the surgeon has been able to remove 80% of the cancer. Since his return to the US, Tyler is making progress every day. If everything goes as planned, Tyler is scheduled to complete his chemotherapy and radiation by December 2012. This world renowned Medical Center makes miracles on a daily basis.

Who is Tyler Schroeder? I met Tyler two years ago. It took only a matter of seconds to realize that Tyler is an exceptional individual. Tyler is immeasurable and has no limitations to what he can accomplish. He is unique. Tyler is warm, loving, and gives a sense of home to those around him. He is reliable, trustworthy, and lives up to the meaning of the word “Friend”. Most importantly, Tyler is intelligent, witty, curious, adventurous, brave and strong. His life travels have not only brought him to numerous states in the U.S, but to places abroad such as South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, China and the Philippines. If it had not been for his illness, he would continue to educate the minds of his students and explore the endless possibilities the world has to offer. He has not only touched my life, but the lives of hundreds, including his friends, family and people he has met in passing. It is without question, that Tyler is an extraordinary human being.

Lastly, I must give credit to the creator of The Tyler Fund, who is Tyler’s best friend of eight years, Talia Robinson. Talia started a fundraiser for Tyler shortly after he was diagnosed. She brilliantly took one of Tyler’s favorite TV shows “Seinfeld”, which recalls his favorite charitable organizations of all time, The Human Fund-- money for people, and spinned it to fit perfectly with Tyler’s cause. I have not had the opportunity to meet Talia, but I can only imagine that she is just as sensational as he is. Please check out her amazing efforts at www.indiegogo.com/thetylerfund. Browse the website for pictures, comments, and updates about Tyler. There has also been an online article written about Tyler to help spread word about his illness. http://www.startingtrends.com/trending-today-the-tyler-fund/.

With a long road ahead of him, we can help him beat this disease, and ease the increasing pressures on his family. The Tyler Fund is dedicated to supporting Tyler fight cancer. I kindly ask that you please show further support and love through kind words and donations. Your acts of kindness will not go unnoticed.

THANK YOU!
