Monsoon Medley by the Josuma Coffee Company Recommended by Whom You Know! Pour Yourself Some to Get Through Monday!

Josuma Coffee Company formed in 1992 and is located in the San Fransisco Bay Area. An importer, distributor, and roaster of coffees exclusively from India, their Monsoon Medley is fabulous. Monsoon Medley is light roasted and low acid. This is a premium specialty coffee and is full bodied, is very easy on the stomach and is great cold! If you love coffee, but not the effect it has on your stomach or the wakefulness it causes at night, this is the perfect coffee to try. It is gentle on the stomach while allowing you to continue to enjoy the benefits of caffeine and the taste of regular coffee! These beans undergo an intricate and unique "monsooning process". I highly recommend visiting the website at www.josuma.com and reading the details of what takes place, it is most interesting! Monsoon Medley is light roasted, roasted to order and shipped within 24 hours of being roasted. Monsoon Medley is a fabulous coffee and I strongly recommend giving it a try!

It is amazing the amount of coffee companies in the world. So many roasters and so little time. Josuma Coffee Company has some very different blends that are derived from India. Their Monsoon Medley blend is perfect for those of us who have bad tummies. It is lightly roasted and super low acidity keeping every person’s stomach intact. With all of that said though, Josuma loses nothing in flavor even with a light roast. Even better is that they recommend this blend as an ice-coffee and we all know how amazing that is during the summer. With the hottest month of the August..it is the perfect time to rock out with some awesome ice-coffee. Just scrumptious!

I have to start each day with a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, sometimes, I get heartburn after taking only a few sips. I've tried one other low acid coffee, but it doesn't compare to the Josuma Monsoon Medley. It had a full body and was very smooth upon drinking. After reading about this low acid coffee, I learned that this coffee doesn't lose it's flavor when cooled or served as an iced coffee. I am very happy to learn this because I typically enjoy iced coffee in the summer. I can't wait to try this as an iced beverage now. I sometimes like to make my own iced latte's as well and plan to brew this coffee for those. I can't wait to have my next cup. I highly recommend it!

TAKE THE VOYAGE FROM INDIA TO EUROPE WITH MONSOON MEDLEY®

In olden days, coffee traveled from India to Europe in wooden sailing vessels- a trip that often took up to six months. Moisture that seeped thru the wood created a humid environment in the cargo holds of those ships. Unbeknownst to either party, the long voyage in this humid surroundings had a transformative effect on the coffee beans. What the coffee growers in India loaded onto the ships was strikingly different from what the coffee consumers in Europe received.

With the opening of the Suez canal and the emergence of steel shipping vessels, though, this phenomenon disappeared. Not only was the trip shorter, but the enclosed cargo hold kept the coffee dry, green, and acidic.

Over time, growers in India learned to simulate the conditions that had previously occurred with the wooden sailing vessels. They did so by adopting a "monsooning" process wherein they expose harvested coffee in well-ventilated brick- or concrete-floored warehouses to the moist monsoon winds for up to four months. Like the long voyage in a wooden ship, monsooning alters the coffee in several ways. Bean color changes from pale green to yellow. Bean size grows as the coffee absorbs moisture. The coffee acquires a unique, special flavor. The acidity of the coffee also drops to the point where it becomes the lowest-acid coffee in the world.

The result is Monsoon Medley®, a coffee with none of the harshness often associated with dark-roasted "bold" coffees. “This is a low acid varietal, full bodied, exceptionally smooth, with a pleasant earthy flavor, but without even a hint of mustiness of an aged coffee,” according to Dr. Joseph John, President of Josuma Coffee Company of Menlo Park, CA. “It is especially easy on the stomach,” added Dr. John. The mellowness of Monsoon Medley® works well with food and offers a sharp contrast to the highly-acidic Central American and African coffees that dominate the American specialty coffee marketplace.

If you're looking for a coffee you can relax with, this is the bean you want.
