Dr. Garo Nazarian is a Mover and Shaker:
Chadwick the Crab although small in stature, has big ideas and a big project ahead of him in his latest adventure. Chadwick and the "Garplegrungen” is a continuation of the Priscilla Cummings's first story. Although Chadwick is a living the life he dreamed at the Aquarium, he makes a trip home to help an old friend. When he gets back to the Chesapeake Bay, he sees firsthand the destruction of this his home. A giant spill of some kind is making his friends sick. So what does Chadwick do? He sets forth to rid the pollution from the Bay even with many doubting his ability to do so. However, again with great determination and with the help of his friends, Chadwick takes action and saves the bay.
Chadwick is one of my new favorite characters. When I saw Chadwick and the Garplegrungen, I knew I would love it. I was not disappointed. Again in this lovable tale, Chadwick shows how having good friends is important. One of his friends from the sea is sick and Chadwick is asked to come home to visit. Since he is still a star at the aquarium in Baltimore, he goes right away. When he arrives home at the sea, he finds out that most everyone is sick from the garplegrungen. All I can say is you have to pick up this book to find out what happens next. Chadwick and the Garplegrungen is one of my new favorite children's books. I've told many of my teacher friends about this book. I highly recommend it!
Chadwick and the Garplegrungen is such a fun-filled book. The story is so engaging no one can put it down. Yes I really mean it! When you open the book you can't help but notice the beautiful illustrations. I love them so very much. They help bring the story to life. Children can't help but fall in love with Chadwick the crab. I love everything about this book!
Chadwick the Crab and his friends are back for more adventures in Priscilla Cummings "Chadwick and the Garplegrungen". In this book, the friends must figure out a way to stop the garplegrungen (their word for the pollution in Chaespapeake Bay where they live) from making them all sick! Chadwick is determined to get rid of the pollution. Despite being told not to bother, Chadwick does not give up! This is a great story that teaches children the importance of taking care of our environment. Compassion, perseverance, friendship and commitment are frequent themes in this fabulous book for children! Your children (and you!) will love reading about Chadwick's next adventure. As a parent, you will appreciate that this book is not only fun, but also very educational!

What is that awful green and purple gunk bubbling up in the normally blue waters of the Chesapeake Bay? Chadwick the Crab and his friends—quiet Orville Oyster, shy Belly Jeans the Flounder, Dr. Mallard (that old quack), stately Baron Von Heron, and others—call the unsightly stuff garplegrungen (it rhymes with dungeon). Although they don't know what the garplegrungen is, they decide to find out and get rid of it once and for all. This is no simple task for a small blue crab, but as readers of Chadwick the Crab series know, Chadwick is not one to give up easily. This is a delightful sequel to its very popular predecessor. Preschool to grade 2
