“Mitchell’s License” is my new favorite book. It is so clever to show what parents sometimes go through to make the most mundane things fun. And also the ways we must use our imagination to trick kids to going to bed. As soon as I starting reading it, I immediately saw my husband and with either my son or daughter and them driving him around the house. The playfulness is portrayed so well with the great graphics. When Mitchell cleans the windshield (dad’s glasses) I seriously laughed out loud. Perfect for young children ages 3-8 or so.

When I first read Mitchell's License, I found myself laughing several times. It brought back many memories from when I was little. It also made me think of when my students tell me about doing something like what Mitchell does with his dad with one of their parents. I can't wait for school to start so I can read this book to my new class and see their grinning faces while I read this book. Since I can't listen to all of them tell their "Mitchell" stories, I can turn it into a writing assignment and have them write and illustrate a story for me. Since I don't have kids of my own, I could see how Mitchell's License could be a good bedtime story a dad could read. I know I'll be recommending this book not only to my teacher friends, but to friends of mine that have young children. I highly recommend it!

Mitchell’s License is a fun, cute and simply adorable book. It really is an easy read and a fun one at that. I found myself giggle throughout the book. This book brings of my childhood and waiting to get behind the wheel. This is a story that has parents relating to every part of the book. I also love the illustrations. The images tie in so well with the story. Every child needs this book in their library.

Daddies prepare! After your child reads Hallie Durand's "Mitchell's License", your bedtime routine with your little one will never be the same! Mitchell was three years, nine months, and five days old when he got his license. Thank goodness he did because Mitchell never wanted to go to bed, but he did like to drive there! This book is so clever. Any parent who has ever had to come up with a witty game to get their child to do what they want (go to bed, wash their hair, brush their teeth....the list goes on) will appreciate and adore this book! Mitchell and his dad do their driving routine each night (Mitchell being the driver and dad being the car) in order to get the little boy to bed without a fight. Hallie Durand's book is silly, clever, and totally loveable! You and your child are sure to enjoy it!

Mitchell was four years, one month, and five days old when he got his license. He may need a little boost getting into the driver’s seat, but once he’s behind the wheel, his car sure goes fast! Left turn, right turn, slow down for speed bumps - Mitchell is a pro. And he loves the way that horn sounds! There’s just one problem: Mitchell and his car have a slight disagreement about what type of fuel should go into the tank. . . . With warmth and sly wit, Hallie Durand follows a young child obsessed with all things automobile, while Tony Fucile’s comical illustrations convey the well-tuned bond between an obliging father and a high-octane child. Hop in for a hilarious, heartwarming ride with four-year-old Mitchell, a kid with a need for speed, a lead foot, and a very special license to drive.
