Redken Creative Consultant Guido created a hairstyle as clean and minimal as the hemlines themselves at the Akris Spring 2013 show this weekend in Paris. The luxurious, expertly-tailored looks in the collection were true to the label's signature straightforward style, and Guido's ponytail was perfectly on point.
"The look at Akris today is a pony with a severe side part, very natural texture, and very little product, although the wisps we pulled out around the face do make the style feel newer. This style is very on-brand; we created a minimal, simple look to go along with the highly-designed collection. And that's why we're seeing a lot of minimal hair - the clothes are always so designed now, and what you need in the hair is something to offset that. There was a time when you had to make more of a statement."

Create the Look:
Start with clean naturally dried hair.
Create a clean deep side part.
Add a bit of guts 10 root targeted volume spray foam on the part and hairline only and blow-dry just the top where you added the guts 10.
Gather hair into a low pony using fingers (no brush) and secure with elastic. Spray powder refresh 01 aerosol hair powder/dry shampoo on the ponytail for texture.
Clip on either side and on the crown area so it lies flat.
Pull a few bits out to get "wispy bits" on the forehead and tuck hair behind ears.
