READ THIS: Obama’s America by Dinesh D'Souza

At Whom You Know, we are open to new ideas, new products and new phenomenons and obviously we embrace consumerism and all of the new innovations that life has to offer. We believe in the success of America and a continued high standard of living, and we seek excellence for you and our readers seek it for themselves. We are not isolationist-we believe a strong relationship with Britain and Israel among other great countries is crucial and we believe in peace through strength. We love the spirit of competition and believe it makes life better. Not only do we love Ronald Reagan, but also we love the Reagan Compass-see our review on his autobiography.

We are absolutely for capitalism. In an age where information is more available than ever before, it is ironic that some basic facts on President Obama may be the least well-known, many of which we learned about first in Obama’s America Unmaking the American Dream by New York Times Bestselling Author Dinesh D’Souza. There is a unique phenomenon going on here-this is not a waspy hedge fund manager from Greenwich writing this- D’Souza says “…here is the paradox. I am a Third World guy who has embraced America, and Obama is an American who has embraced a Third World ideology.” (page 219)

You’re going to need to open your mind no matter what your perspective is when you open this book-we were really digging deep when we read the line about how the Luo tribesmen felt wearing shoes was controversial-clearly we are emotionally attached to our shoes here with four columns devoted to shoes….The site Whom You Know does not have a party affiliation however, we are champions of the American dream and are constantly applauding and interviewing entrepreneurs that pursue excellence, we are pro-business, especially small business, and above all of this, we are hugely patriotic and believe in the good of America whether it’s coming from a Democrat or a Republican.

We abhor the arrogance of power. If you are an avid reader, you know personalities from both parties have been featured in various contexts. All of these reasons made us want to pursue this book and enlighten you on what you also may not know, simply because the mainstream media does not tell you. We hope we are never mainstream.

We review Obama’s America in honor of everyone who has come to America with a dream, worked to realize it because of their own hard work and intelligence, not because an entity gave it to them and we encourage you all to read this book because it is logical, factual (you’ll see many footnotes) and enlightening, for starters. And you can be sure that D’Souza is for real as he has gone to extremes to do a credible job with this book – to the point of visiting “grandmother” (she is one of his grandfather’s wives) of the President Sarah Obama and bringing her 3 goats.

So, who is this author? Do we know him? Not yet but he is in our city! You should know that D’Souza is the President of The King's College which is in downtown Manhattan, and he came to America himself from India to pursue the American dream. He tells us on page 2: “America wasn’t so much an empire as it was an ideal, and ideal of freedom and prosperity and social decency, a dream that ‘all men are created equal’ and ‘entitled to a pursuit of happiness,’ a universal dream, one that even a boy in Mumbai, on the outskirts of world power, could aspire to.” We believe all Americans would agree with that. Let’s make sure this boy from India all grown up now (see what he says on page 15) is able to say it was right for him to move to America because this country is going to stay on top. (We even have a column on that…)

Here are facts that we learned that you should know:

*Obama routinely advances the interests of foreign companies over those of American companies. Currently the Obama administration is promoting in Asia a trade treaty called the Trans-Pacific Partnership. As drafted by the Obama team, the treaty would prevent any U.S. manufacturers who advertise ‘Buy American’ from qualifying for U.S. Government contracts covered by the treaty. (p.32) D’Souza goes on to say a Brazilian company was awarded a $1 billion military contract over Hawker Beechcraft in Kansas.

*When Obama was elected President, the New York Times sought to identify and interview people who knew and remembered him at Columbia. The Times found no one. (p.19) We believe anyone that is a politician on a national level ought to have had friends in college cheering for them and being proud of them. This is a strange phenomenon indeed for our Editor-in-Chief to grasp because of her love for her school and the people she met there but we also know Obama did not have the good fortune to attend and graduate from Boston College and we believe he’s also benefit from the Micro and Macro Economic Theory classes she studied there.

*All Presidents deserve time off, but Obama has set a record for a single presidential term in taking seventeen vacations stretching over seventy-four days and involving more than a hundred rounds of golf (p. 209) Peachy is all about golf but she is more about getting work done and enjoying herself when it is complete. She has yet to play a round of golf since starting Whom You Know.

*On page 21 we learn Obama started a school in Kenya that he promised to fund and did not. We believe in people being good for their word.

*On page 24 we learn that Obama was editor of the Harvard Law Review but never wrote for it. We find this seriously perplexing.

*While Bush’s deficits never topped $500 billion, Obama’s have averaged more than $1 trillion. In fact, between 1789 and 2000, America accumulated a national debt of less than $5 trillion. Incredibly, Obama will in four years have added more to the national debt than all U.S. Presidents from George Washington through Bill Clinton combined. (p. 191)

*In America, between 2007 and 2010, median net worth fell nearly 40 percent-wiping out more than a decade of savings and home appreciation. This is the biggest reduction in American wealth since the Great Depression. As America declines, the rest of the world gains; to take a single example, the number of American millionaires dropped by 129,000 in 2011, while the rest of the world gained 175,000 millionaires.

*Anti-colonialism isn’t something we often think about, as obviously America was a colony that proclaimed independence in 1776. D’Souza enlightens us all in a big way on this topic: “Anti-colonialists believe today that America has replaced Europe as the main perpetrator of global theft and exploitation (p. 12)….in terms of Policy, anti-colonialism is a massive program of global reparations. Anti-colonialists want rich people to pay up so that poor people can improve their living conditions. Their definition of rich people, however, is not millionaires and billionaires. It is a global definition. Since the vast majority of Americans are rich compared to people in Asia, Africa and South America, the anti-colonialists want to see a diminution in the American standard of living, even for the American middle class, so that people in Addis Ababa and Rio de Janeiro and Nairobi can see their living standards rise. (p. 13)

*The stories about Obama’s brother George are truly heartbreaking-they start on page 102.

*The quote about taxes by Barack Obama Sr. on page 125 leaves us speechless. List what you earn and send it in…

*Page 162 says: “Consider this statement from Obama’s 2009 Cairo speech: ‘No system of government,’ Obama declared ‘can or should be imposed by one nation on any other.’…It is almost as foolish to say that no nation should impose its system on another: America imposed its democratic system of government on Germany and Japan following World War II, and the results have been excellent.

As you go on in this book you will become more and more incredulous at what you’re reading, and even if you are the furthest on the left you simply cannot disagree with facts that are clearly stated. Peace through weakness (p. 148) does not work and we continue to be saddened by the anti-American terrorism in Libya on 9/11/12 and these events sadly confirm what D’Souza says in this book. If you care about the future of America or just want to be educated about what is going on today, Obama’s America is absolutely a book you need to read. You’re going to be appalled by what you don’t know, and we don’t want you to be unaware of the truth. Our esteemed panel, composed of people from both parties, comments:

Addressing himself to "future historians", Mr. D'Souza begins his "Obama's America" with succinct points. His points cover his own perspective of President Obama's background, foreign policy, even his psychological motivation. As President of King's College in NYC, Mr. D'Souza already has one best seller under his belt. With this present political offering, he would make even Newt Gingrich happy. Written as a completely conservative treatise, "Obama's America" presents a realistic list of America's problems. From a purely academic standpoint, these problems spell out our whys and wherefores as a nation, and as a world power. But from Mr . D'Souza's arguments, we must conclude that President Obama has a well-planned agenda in place. And Mr. D'Souza does not approve of that agenda.
Read this book as an eye-opening shot in the arm, if you are anti-political. It will awaken that gene many of us have for doing research. Or, read it as a discourse on our state of affairs, from the right side of political analogy. Interesting to see how he develops his debatable arguments, but read between the lines for a much broader perception. It reminded me of graduate school, and made me want to do my homework. After all is said and done, your own point of view will see you through, but you will be fascinated by Mr. D'Souza's coherent progress throughout this well-paced book.

When I first received this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. Not having read many books of this nature, I thought it would be tough. As I was reading, I couldn't believe how thought provoking this book was. Dinesh D'Souza's writing made me think and do more research as to what has been going on. You can tell how well researched the information presented in this book is. I think this would be a book everyone should read. It would cause great debates and discussions about the content. I can't wait until a few of my friends who are currently are reading this book to finish so we can have those debates and discussions. With the Presidential Election so close, I feel everyone needs to read this book. As thought provoking as it was, it was a very quick read. I couldn't put it down. Everyone should read this book.

I am clearly a republican! Fiscally conservative. I believe in small government and people having more freedom to handle their own affairs. Socially I would say I am more liberal to some degree. I know that I cannot stand Obama as every time he comes on TV I have to change the channel. I have been obsessed with the campaigning that has been going on this year so I was very interested in ready Dinesh D’Souza’s “Obama’s America: Unmaking the American Dream”. This is the sequel to ‘The Roots of Obama’s Rage” which I now must get to learn the history of his upbringing that led him to despise the America that is the most beautiful and powerful and country in the world. Well at least until Obama got his hands on it. This book shows how Obama is the mastermind behind the demise of America trying to shrink our country’s power and productivity by giving it away to other countries and people who have not worked for it. Now, I do believe in helping others and that we must take care of fellow Americans that cannot take care of themselves. But we cannot do this with handouts. His fundamental reforms are trying to diminish growth and prosperity in this country and just give it away. Not only to those who do not deserve it but also to other nations but only at the demise of ours. It kills me that he wants me to care more about what Romney has done with his money then how he has wasted mine.

Dinesh D’Souza ‘s “Obama’s America, Unmaking the American Dream “, is a thorough analysis of how America’s dreams are being transformed into nightmares. The nightmare concludes in the ending of America as an economic and political world leader. The cause of this destructive transformation is attributable to the actions of one man, President Barak Obama. In order to fully comprehend the underlying drive to effect this change, D’Souza takes the reader to what he believes is the origin of Obama’s agenda: the formative years of his childhood. D’Souza portrays how Obama’s feelings of abandonment and disillusion by, and of, his parents led him to embrace his perception of their underlying philosophies of society. The unifying factor is the belief of an anti-colonialism approach to society. This drive to create equality under the guise of anti-colonialism ideals views America as prospering by pillaging and thus impoverishing, other societies. The only way to equalize the playing field is by decreasing America’s place in the world arena. D’Souza illustrates this point by enumerating the multiple actions taken by Obama that can best be understood when viewed from the perspective that America must be weakened as a punishment for her ill-begotten prosperity. Viewing Obama’s actions from this perspective is a chilling realization that should give pause to citizens across all party lines.
This book is a must read. Its ramifications and claims are supported by multiple concrete examples of actions that lend credence to the author’s hypothesis. The startling conclusion of the book? We are all the one percent. Reader, beware. Peachy’s American pride is in peril and at stake this November.

Whom You Know Highly Recommends Obama's America by Dinesh D'Souza and we believe this is a must-read for everyone literate whether you are a Democrat, Republican, Independent or a nationality other than American!!!!

OBAMA’S CALCULATED DESTRUCTION OF THE AMERICAN DREAM

Dinesh D’Souza exposes Obama as the architect of American decline

Washington, D.C.—In his groundbreaking bestseller, The Roots of Obama’s Rage, Dinesh D’Souza explored how President Obama’s upbringing and early career molded him into a man who viewed America as the great colonial exploiter, oppressing and taking advantage of the rest of the world. Now, in his shocking sequel, Obama’s America: Unmaking the American Dream (Regnery Publishing; Hardcover; August 13, 2012; $27.95), D’Souza reveals how Obama’s anti-American worldview has given us everything from Obamacare to Solyndra—and what disasters the next four years will hold if Obama wins a second term.

“Never before in American history have we had a president who seeks decline, who is actually attempting to downsize his country,” says D’Souza. “America is now on a short path toward becoming the shortest-lived superpower in world history.”

In Obama’s America, D’Souza exposes how President Obama’s vision for America is far different than what Americans would expect from the president. Contrary to conventional wisdom, Obama’s actions are not “misguided” or those of an “amateur,” but are the results of deliberately destructive policies. For President Obama, America, as a whole, is the 1% and must pay by transferring its wealth to the global 99%. President Obama’s ultimate goal is not to spread the wealth from rich Americans to poor Americans but to shrink America’s footprint in the world and transfer its wealth and power to poor countries.

D’Souza describes President Obama as “the architect of American decline,” content to see America lose its superpower status. Obama’s America shows how President Obama’s plan to “fundamentally transform” America is so drastic that the “shining city on a hill” is destined to become a shantytown in a rather dangerous global village.

Obama’s America reveals:

How Obama believes that the rich should pay more taxes, but not just rich Americans, ALL Americans. To Obama, America is the 1% and must be downsized to become part of the global 99%.

Why Obama is not a conventional liberal in the mold of Bill Clinton, John Kerry, and Jimmy Carter, but in fact sees America as the plunderer and himself the restorer.

Why Obama appears to promote green energy by thwarting off-shore drilling in America yet his administration has bankrolled $2.84 billion for off-shore drilling in Brazil, Columbia, and Mexico.

Why Obama’s vision for world peace positions America as the real threat, not Iran or North Korea, and the real reason he is diminishing America’s ability to defend itself and dismantling America’s power to make the world safe for liberty and democracy.

How Obama will use debt as a weapon of mass destruction to downsize America—making Americans second-class citizens in their own country.

Why Obama will work to destroy Israel, one of America’s strongest allies, in favor of “The United States of Islam.”

History of Regnery Publishing, Inc.

When the Henry Regnery Company first opened its doors in 1947, its mission was to contribute to the rebuilding of Western civilization after World War II, publishing serious works of cultural recovery, including, as it turned out, establishing and sustaining the postwar conservative intellectual movement in America. Over the years, the company has published such authors as Russell Kirk (The Conservative Mind), William F. Buckley, Jr. (God and Man at Yale), Wilmoore Kendall (The Conservative Affirmation), Whittaker Chambers (Witness), James Burnham (The Suicide of the West), and many other classics of modern American conservatism.

From the beginning, the company’s editorial policy extended far beyond the political arena, and books were published on a wide variety of subjects, including philosophy, music, art, architecture, history, and even the rare novel from Wyndham Lewis (Revenge for Love), H. W. Crocker III (The Old Limey), and William F. Buckley, Jr. (Getting It Right). Henry Regnery had a broad view of the world, and saw conservatism as far more than a political movement.Early on he arranged with the University of Chicago to publish quality paperback editions of the Great Books Series, which would include Plato, Aristotle, Locke, Hume, Mill, Burke, Adam Smith, and many other classics. The University of Chicago, however, cancelled the contract after Henry Regnery published William F. Buckley, Jr.’s God and Man at Yale in 1951, which lit a political firestorm in academia. So Henry Regnery started his own line of quality paperback classics and called it Regnery Gateway. The Gateway series ultimately grew to more than 200 titles, and included authors ranging from St. Augustine to Karl Marx, from Ambrose Bierce to the Japanese novelist Natsume Soseki, from Boethius to Carl von Clausewitz.

After undergoing several transitions during the 1970s and 1980s, Henry Regnery’s son Alfred took over and moved the company—now Regnery Gateway, Inc.—to Washington, D.C., where it quickly reestablished its finest traditions—including publishing books that told the truth about communism. In 1987, with the publication of Red Horizons, authored by Romania’s former head of foreign intelligence Ion Mihai Pacepa, Regnery Gateway published a book that not only told the shocking truth about Communist Romania, but, broadcast into Romania on Radio Free Europe, was credited as inspiring the popular counterrevolution that brought down the regime.

Titles like The Secret War Against Hitler, by former director of Central Intelligence William Casey, was another fascinating addition to the library of Regnery history. Senatorial Privilege by Leo Damore was the first fully factual account of Senator Edward Kennedy’s accident on the bridge at Chappaquiddick, and was a New York Times bestseller for five months. ProfScam by Charles J. Sykes was successful exposé of academia in the tradition of God and Man at Yale, and inspired state-level legislation. Trashing the Planet by Dixie Lee Ray, a credentialed scientist and former governor of Washington, was the first intelligent challenge to radical environmentalism—both its bad science and its bad effects on the environment. Darwin on Trial by Philip Johnson, a law professor at Boalt Hall at the University of California at Berkeley began the intellectual unraveling of the dogma of Darwinism that has continued now for more than a decade.

In 1993 Regnery Gateway, Inc., became Regnery Publishing, Inc, and also became part of the newly founded Eagle Publishing, which also includes Human Events, the national conservative

weekly (which Henry Regnery helped found in 1944), the Conservative Book Club, the Evans & Novak Political Report, and other publications.

As part of Eagle Publishing, Regnery has become a hit machine, with a hugely disproportionate number of national bestsellers, including the sensational number one New York Times bestsellers Unlimited Access by former FBI Agent Gary Aldrich, Murder in Brentwood by Mark Fuhrman, Bias by Bernard Goldberg, and Unfit for Command by John O’Neill and Jerome Corsi.

Other New York Times bestsellers include: America Alone, the laugh-out-loud satire by acclaimed journalist Mark Steyn; Power to the People by top-rated radio show host Laura Ingraham; What's So Great About Christianity by Dinesh D'Souza; titles by Washington Times reporters Bill Gertz, Rowan Scarborough, and Bill Sammon; not to mention books by Newt Gingrich, David Limbaugh, David Horowitz, Ann Coulter, Tony Blankley, Robert Spencer, Dore Gold, and Chris Horner.

Recent bestsellers have included Obama’s America by Dinesh D’Souza, The Amateur by Edward Klein, The Great Destroyer by David Limbaugh, After America by Mark Steyn, Courting Disaster by Marc Thiessen, Culture of Corruption by Michelle Malkin, A Slobbering Love Affair by Bernard Goldberg, and Real Change by Newt Gingrich. And there have been still others, giving Regnery—by far—the highest batting average of New York Times bestsellers per title published of any publisher.

The conservative movement has grown, over the last 65 years, from a few intellectuals, economists, editorial writers, and authors to become the most vibrant political and intellectual movement that the country has ever known. Regnery Publishing is as central to the conservative movement today, as it was nearly sixty five years ago when Henry Regnery helped start it.
