SACAI

Spring - Summer 2013

Paris Fashion Week

Hair by Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

Redken Creative Consultant Guido created fresh, easy "school girl" hair that complemented the many layers and fabrics seen in the Spring 2013 Sacai show while also going hand in hand with the wearability of the collection. The designer had a real woman in mind when she created the looks; a woman who's taking a risk yet ultimately still wants to be desirable. Guido certainly played on this modern ideal with the natural yet subtly stylized hairstyle he created for the show.

"The look at Sacai today is fresh and simple, like a school girl but with an edge. I wanted to keep a very strong head shape so we used wig caps on all the girls to really set the hair so it stays flat against the head. The crown is then over-sprayed with Redken forceful 23 hairspray to really emphasize the head shape, almost giving it a spooky effect, but the rest of the hair is supposed to look extremely natural, clean and product free."

-Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

Create the Look:
Shampoo and condition hair with Redken's Clear Moisture haircare line to start with clean hair that retains it's natural texture and moisture balance.
Create a center part that's not perfectly precise.
Blow-dry hair smooth with a natural bristle bush at the top, and then roughly blow-dry mid-shaft to ends with your hands to retain texture.
Place a wig cap on top of hair to flatten right when you finish drying, and then spray the crown liberally with forceful 23 super strength finishing spray when you remove the cap, first clipping hair on either side to keep it very flat on top.
Remove clips and place hair in front of shoulders on either side.
