Lenovo Introduces Tower ThinkServer to Power Back-End Processing Lenovo Bolsters Server Portfolio with Workhorse Tower Option
Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today announced the availability of ThinkServer® TD330, designed to handle behind-the-scenes IT tasks for small-and-medium-sized organizations – from schools deploying virtual desktop sessions or blackboard applications, to retail deployments, to distributed environments like banks with multiple locations. Supporting up to 16 cores based on the Intel® Xeon® E5-2400 processor family, the TD330 does the heavy-lifting, running line-of-business applications that support business processing and collaborative efforts.
ThinkServer TD330 is the first product introduced by Lenovo’s new Enterprise Product Group, a dedicated business unit that will expand the Company’s server, storage, networking and software offerings. It will be led by Roy Guillen, vice president and general manager, Enterprise Product Group, Lenovo.
“We’ve placed expanded emphasis on building our server portfolio this year, introducing products that meet the needs of all our customers – from enterprise customers to small businesses,” said Guillen. “The ThinkServer TD330 meets the need of an organization that demands flawless dual socket performance in a flexible, scalable tower solution, and values the reliability and sturdiness that ThinkServer products are known for.”
Making a ThinkServer Think
The ThinkServer TD330 is loaded with such standard features as onboard RAID, onboard diagnostics, hot swap support and web enabled remote management, all at an affordable price. The ThinkServer TD330 offers flexible system configurations, allowing organizations to tailor the server to their exact needs. The TD330 also features scalability – an organization with basic needs today can pare back the options selected and still have powerful processing capability and room to grow in the future. The TD330 fits easily into a hybrid environment, designed with industry standard IPMI 2.0-compliant protocols and interfaces, allowing it to be integrated without sacrificing any existing IT investments.
Lenovo’s ThinkServer TD330 is based on the Intel® Xeon® E5-2400 processor family. It features up to 192GB of memory, a variety of hard drive and network card choices, and advanced RAID options with battery backup and cache.
The TD330 is more than simply a powerful tower - with Energy Star® compliant models and low voltage processor and memory choices, the TD330 delivers impressive energy savings.
Simple to Deploy, Monitor and Control
Every ThinkServer TD330 features EasyStartup, EasyUpdate and EasyManage. This impressive suite of software tools makes it simple to setup, configure and manage the server – ideal for branch offices with few or no IT staff onsite. ThinkServer EasyStartup, an assistant that simplifies the process of installing and configuring the server, allows an organization to quickly bring online a number of servers of the same model. It also allows organizations to keep existing business data during the installation process, saving time and minimizing the risk of the loss of critical business data. After the installation process, ThinkServer EasyManage server monitoring and management tools help to maintain peak performance. EasyManage is designed to simplify the most frequent management issues for IT administrators. For customers who require powerful remote manageability tools, the ThinkServer TD330 also offers a management module premium with iKVM, allowing IT staff to monitor and control the server from any location.
The TD330 is supported by a comprehensive services portfolio designed for ThinkServer products, including warranty support upgradeable to four hour onsite 24x7 response1 and the ability to deploy custom Windows imaging and BIOS settings at the Lenovo factory.
